LPU Scholarship - Eligibility Criteria, Types, Amount

LPU offers scholarships based on a student’s performance in the LPUNEST exam. There are four scholarship brackets—Category A, B, C and D—based on score cut-offs. Higher scores place students in higher categories with larger fee reductions. All programmes follow the same structure, where each group receives a fixed percentage of scholarship depending on the LPUNEST category achieved. Better scores lead to higher scholarship benefits across all programme groups.

Scholarships at LPU are awarded based on a candidate’s performance in the LPUNEST exam. There are four scholarship brackets, determined by the candidate’s LPUNEST score relative to the cut-offs for Category A, B, C, and D. A higher LPUNEST score places the student in a higher scholarship category. The scholarship percentage for each programme is then applied according to these categories.

The scholarship structure for all programmes is presented in the table below.

Students who rank high in national entrance examinations, have secured admission in the best colleges, or have top ranks in school board examinations, will be awarded 100% programme fee waiver, residential and/or transportation fee support, as per the eligibility criteria and if they maintain a minimum CGPA of 8.0 every year.

LPU RISE Scholarship: Eligible Applicant Categories 

• The benefits to Gold Medallist or Toppers of University (HEIs) are removed. The benefits under Category C of LPURISE scheme will be applicale to Education Board Toppers only (After 10th and After 12th Programmes).

• Application can be submitted at the time of taking admission or after taking admission
• Applications accepted until the last date of admission.
• Include all mandatory or required documents such as
o Application Form
o Valid AIR Rank Card
o Admission Offer Letter and/or Admission Allotment Letter
o Proof of Category (If required)
o Academic Transcripts and ID Proof (if applicable)
o Admission Fee Receipt and/or Enrolment Letter
o Merit List from Education Board
o Undertaking for Continuation of Benefits etc.

Programmes Considered

The applications are accepted in all the programmes except programmes with Tie-up or Work integrated
programmes or any other programme defined by the university.

Selection & Disbursement

• Evaluated by the Admission Verification Team.
• Results communicated within 10-15 working days.
• Scholarship credited to student’s fee account within 10 working days of confirmation by Admission
Verification Team.

Continuation of Benefits Applicable to all categories
• Minimum CGPA 8.0 every year
• Failing to meet conditions will downgrade to general scholarship bracket (as per other best criteria).

Scholarship Guidelines for School Education Board Toppers

• Applicants must have secured a Top 20 rank in a recognised Indian school board merit list. Eligibility is for students who have passed in the year 2026 and that board exam had a minimum of 1000 candidates.
• Applicants need to attain a minimum CGPA of 8.0 or 80% marks in marks based programmes every year to continue receiving the scholarship. Scholarship may be withdrawn if the required academic performance is not met. It will be reinstated when the required CGPA or marks is met.

Scholarship Brackets

For each category, there are three brackets of Scholarship (Bracket 1, 2 and 3) that are defined. Each bracket has its own respective criteria that need to be met for availing the applicable scholarship. Therefore, the students meeting the requirement of Bracket- 1 gets the highest Scholarship and those in Bracket - 2 or 3 get a relatively lesser scholarship amount.

Scholarship Phases

Admissions in LPU are done in different phases, which are bifurcations of the admission time period. The amount of scholarship also depends on the phase in which the candidate takes admission to the university. Phase I starts as early as January and continues till the end of April. The subsequent phases, Phase II, III, IV, and V, are conducted only if the seats in the concerned programme remain vacant. The amount of scholarship reduces with each passing phase and no scholarship is offered in Phase V (if conducted).
