Hostels

MIT provides state of the art hostel facility for its students. There are total seven hostels including a newly built girls' hostel. All the hostels are well maintained and are equipped with all the modern facilities like telephones, color television, common rooms, ward servants, in-house games room and canteens. 

Library

MIT has a well-maintained library equipped with thousands of books related all streams of engineering. The books related to literature, art, current affairs, etc. contribute to vital part of its large collection. 
It has rightly been said that the soul of a technical college lies in its library & laboratories. In this contest, MIT is fortunate enough to have a quite rich, compact and well organized library. The library has unique collection of some 15000 foreign and Indian journals in various branches of engineering and has more than 35000 of text and reference books. In addition to these, a general book bank is functioning with nearly 10000 books for all students and a welfare book bank having nearly 16000 books. The working hour of library is the same as that of the college but seminar section also operates during late evening hour. To encourage inclination towards studies, fully air-conditioned reading room is there and uninterrupted power supply is maintained by means of generators of the institute. A number of magazines and newspapers is also provided along with the curriculum books in the reading room.

Sports

This society has been functioning in full swing right from 1954 and college has provided many facilities to students for playing Cricket, Lawn Tennis, Badminton, Volleyball, Basketball, football and other in-door games. The sports ground and various fields are well maintained. Annual sports are regularly organised in the college campus. Inter college Athletic meet & Lawn Tennis tournament of Bihar University is arranged at MIT sports ground.

With the intake of about 200 students every year, the total strength of students in the institute is about 900. Altogether there are seven hostels, providing accommodation to all students. Out of these seven, hostel No.-1 and hostel for girls are located within the campus. Rest five are situated at one place outside the campus just in front of gate No.-1 of the institute. There are single seated rooms which are normally allocated to final year and pre-final year boarders. Multi-seated accommodation constitute 2-seated & 3-Seated rooms which are allotted to the students of 1st & 2nd year. Out of these seven hostels, one is smaller which is called Welfare hostel, exclusively meant for scheduled caste & scheduled tribe students is under the control of welfare department.

Since its inception, MIT has always taken lead in all fields of extra curricular activities like sports, drama and cultural activities. Students coming to this institute have always been involved and so it has always staged highly thrilling programmes. 
Prof. A.K. Mishra, the present secretary is also an artist with unforgettable capacity to organise cultural programmes. A highly thrilling programme is organized every year in X-Mas holiday by students to celebrate its Annual function. Moreover our talented artist engineers have got many prizes wherever they perform in competition all around the country. The society has purchased a good number of musical instruments. Well maintained audio-visual hall of the institute serves as an ideal place to stage all kinds of cultural activities.

MITians keenly participate in various sports competitions and win awards. Some of these awards won in the past are Delhi university (Lawn tennis), Guru Nanak Dev University (Athletic), Pt. Ravi Sankar University (Badminton) kumaon University, Nainital (Kho-Kho), etc.
