National Institute of Technology Agartala’s admission for its undergraduate engineering courses starts with the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main. For 2026 batch, students have to appear and qualify for this national level exam for which registrations open twice in Nov and Feb. The next high-stake step after JEE Main results is the centralized counseling through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). The candidates need to register on the JoSAA portal that opens in June and participate in the seat allotment rounds for all the NITs, including Agartala. It is through a single portal where the students will be required to fill their choices and receive their final seats.

NIT Agartala Admission Latest Update
JoSAA 2026 counselling registration is now open. The last date to complete registration and choice filling is June 11, 2026. Candidates can complete the counselling process online through the official portal at josaa.nic.in.
NIMCET 2026 admit card has been released. Candidates can download the admit card from the official website at nimcet.admissions.nic.in using their login credentials. The NIMCET 2026 examination is scheduled to be conducted on June 6, 2026.
IIT JAM 2026 Round 1 seat allotment has been released. Candidates can check their allotted seats on the official JOAPS portal at joaps.iitb.ac.in. The last date for payment of the seat acceptance fee is May 30, 2026. Candidates must complete the required admission choices, including Accept & Freeze, Accept with Upgrade, or Reject and Quit, within the specified deadline.

The physical verification of documents in NIT Agartala would be held from 14 - 18 August, 2023. Candidates are required to visit the college campus between 9 AM to 4 PM. The documents that should be carried along include JEE (Mains) 2023 score card, age proof (birth certificate/Class 10 admit card), Class 10 & 12 marksheets, provisional admission letter & final seat acceptance letter, photo id proof, caste certificate (if applicable), migration & character certificate, and physical disability certificate.
