The Placement cell of NIT Surathkal arranges placement opportunities for students. The reputed national and multinational companies come for campus placements at NIT Surathkal. The campus placements at NIT Surathkal are one of the highest-paid placements on an average. Students who have shown excellence in studies are generally offered the highest packages by the recruiting companies from NIT Surathkal. NIT Karnataka (Mangalore) Placements 2018-19

NIT Surathkal has witnessed a 25% surge in Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) this year. The pre-placement process 2018-19 for engineering students concluded recently, and many students are placed even before the completion of their course. Compared to the previous year, PPOs in NIT Surathkal witnessed a surge by 25% this year.

Chairperson of the Career Development Centre (CDC), Mr. Vijay Desai explained that over 150 students were offered PPOs by reputed companies. These students took part in an internship in various reputed companies in May – July 2018.

NIT Surathkal placements 2018-19 witnessed the participation of top companies and attractive salary packages. The highest package was Rs. 42 lakh per annum offered by DE Shaw (Hyderabad). The Phase 1 recruitment process of NIT Surathkal was held from August to November 2018. So far, 190 companies have visited the campus. Some of the top recruiters during the Phase 1 placements of NIT Surathkal were –

  • Axis Bank
  • Deloitte
  • Tata Motors
  • Amazon
  • Morgan Stanley
  • Goldman Sachs
  • Uber

  • Oracle

Almost all students of Computer Science and Engineering have been placed in top companies and the average salary offered was Rs. 18 lakh per annum. On the other hand, 82% of students have been placed in electrical, electronics, mechanical and mining engineering branches. Over 75 per cent of students of chemical engineering branch has secured jobs. More companies are expected to visit the campus for the Phase 2 placements.
