Dear Student,
When comparing Online MBA courses offered by NMIMS Centre for Distance & Online Education, Amity University, Manipal University, and XLRI, the first major factor the comes to mind is the course fees. XLRI has the costliest Online MBA course and it offers a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (Online) in addition to other specializations with a course fees of INR 13.9 lakhs. All the other institutes have their Online MBA course fees of around INR 2 lakhs with NMIMS, Amity, and Manipal University having course fees of INR 2.10 Lakhs, INR 2 lakhs, and INR 1.75 lakhs, respectively. As for specializations, NMIMS, Amity, and Manipal University offer multiple specializations including Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Operation & Data Science. XLRI on the other hand only offers two specializations which are HRM and Finance. Overall, all four institutes are excellent choices for Online MBA and the final decision must be made keeping in mind your own career objectives and financial situation.
Having scored 95.89 percentile in XAT and secured sectional cutoffs of 70, 93, and 97, your possibility of getting an interview call from XLRI Jamshedpur from its MBA course is realistically quite good, though not guaranteed. Analyzing recent trends (2023 and 2024), XLRI usually calls candidates above a certain percentile cutoff as per XAT, though the percentage does vary each year.
In 2023, XLRI had put up fairly stringent standards for interview shortlisting in terms of XAT percentiles and sectional cutoffs. Typically, candidates with an overall percentile of 95 or above have a decent chance, but the sectional cutoffs are as important. Your sectional scores of 70, 93, and 97 are all well above or within the usual cut-offs seen for each section in Jamshedpur, so your chances have gone up substantially.
However, not to forget XLRI also selects candidates based on overall performance, rather than just looking at the XAT score. So in case your profile matches these criteria, there is a very good chance to get selected, though the fight is still neck and neck considering the percentile at which the profile is coming along with other criteria. Therefore, while your XAT performance puts you in a favourable position, the final call depends on the overall applicant pool and how your profile matches XLRI's criteria.
