XLRI Jamshedpur Admissions 2026: The XAT 2026 entrance exam will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026, for which registrations have already begun and will conclude on December 5, 2025. To secure admission into XLRI, candidates must possess a valid score in either the XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test) or GMAT. Initially, applicants are required to submit the online application form for the respective PGDM/FPM programmes via the official XLRI website. For PGDM admission, candidates without a valid GMAT score can apply for the XAT 2026 exam, which is conducted annually in January.

At XLRI the admission to the PGDM program is done on the basis of candidates performance in XAT Entrance Exam. XAT applications are now available and can be filled out online. Candidates can follow the steps shown below for filling out the XAT Online Application form:-
The candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% of the marks. The candidates must have a valid XAT/ GMAT score.
Initially, XLRI will shortlist the names of candidates based on his/ her score in XAT/ GMAT. The shortlisted candidates will be invited to take part in Essay Writing, Group Discussion, and Personal Interview. The selection components of XLRI may change from time to time. Final selection of candidates will be based on the overall performance in XAT/ GMAT/ Personal Interview/ Group Discussion/ Essay Writing/ past academic performance and work experience (if any).

The selection process for General management is similar to that of Business Management and Human Resource Management. Initially, XLRI will shortlist the names of candidates based on his/ her score in XAT/ GMAT. The shortlisted candidates will be invited to take part in Essay Writing, Group Discussion, and Personal Interview. The selection components of XLRI may change from time to time. The final selection of candidates will be based on the overall performance in XAT/ GMAT/ Personal Interview/ Group Discussion/ Essay Writing/ past academic performance and work experience (if any).
The candidates must have a Master’s degree in any discipline with 55% of marks and a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with 60% of marks. B.Tech graduates with 60% marks and two years of work experience can apply for the FPM programme. CA, ICWA and CS professionals are also eligible for the FPM programme. The candidates must have a valid score in XAT/ GMAT/ GATE/ GRE/ UGC JRF or NET. Candidates who have completed PGP from XLRI/ IIMs/ IITs/ NITs/ TISS/ TIFR/ ISI/ IRMA/ MDI Gurgaon/ FMS Delhi/ XIM Bhubaneswar/ SP Jain with a CQPI of 6 out of 8 are exempted from the above entrance exams or eligibility tests.
Primarily, XLRI will shortlist the names of candidates based on his/ her score in XAT/ GMAT. The selected candidates will be invited to take part in the personal interview.
MBA/ PGDM graduates with 60% of marks are eligible to apply. The candidate must currently be employed in a full-time job. The candidates must have a minimum work experience of five years.
The selection process for Executive FPM is similar to that of FPM. XLRI will shortlist the names of candidates based on his/ her score in XAT/ GMAT. The selected candidates will be invited to take part in the personal interview.
The admission to XLRI has been categorized into two stages: Stage 1 - Short-Listing of Candidates: The candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their performance in XAT Entrance Examination. XAT score will consist of three sections: Verbal Ability, Decision Making and Quantitative Aptitude. General knowledge and Essay Writing marks will be included in Stage 2 of the selection process. Stage 2 - Final Selection: Most of the B-schools follow Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds for the final selection process. Once these rounds are completed, the total score is calculated on the basis of XAT score, GD, PI, Essay Writing, General Knowledge, past Academic records, work experience (if any), and overall profile. On the basis of these scores, merit list is prepared and the admissions are offered.
Yes, you will be eligible for admission to XLRI. You will be required to complete your final year examination by a certain date. To be eligible to apply for XLRI, you must hold a bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years from a recognised college. There is no prescribed minimum percentage of marks in graduation for XLRI admission.
