SET 2021 Syllabus

Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) is a yearly entrance exam for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Law, Engineering, Mass Communication, Management, Design, Liberal Arts, Culinary Arts, Computer Studies and Economics. 

Under SET 2021, there are four entrance exams viz. Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET)/Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT)/SIT Engineering Entrance Exam (SIT EEE)/Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED). The SET Syllabus for all the four entrance tests is different. However, it basically demands a thorough knowledge of the related subject along with an understanding of Logical and Analytical Reasoning, Verbal Ability, Legal Reasoning and General Knowledge. 

The weightage and number of questions under each of the topics have been elaborated in SET 2021 Exam Pattern. For candidates to qualify the test, they need to prepare for it in an organised manner for which they can go through the below-mentioned SET syllabus. 

SET Syllabus for SIT EEE (Engineering)

Physics:

  • Dual Nature of Matter: Dual Nature of Radiation and Matter
  • Atoms & Nuclei
  • Magnetic Effect of Current & Magnetism: Moving Charges and Magnetism, Magnetism and Matter
  • Electrostatics: Electric Charges and Fields, Electrostatic Potential and Capacitance.
  • Current Electricity
  • Electromagnetic Waves: Electromagnetic Waves
  • Electromagnetic Induction & Alternating Current: Electromagnetic Induction, Alternating Current
  • Optics: Ray Optics and Optical Instruments, Wave Optics

Mathematics:

  • Algebra: Matrices, Determinants
  • Calculus: Continuity and Differentiability, Applications of Derivatives, Integrals, Applications of the Integrals, Differential Equations
  • Vectors and Three-Dimensional Geometry: Vectors, Three- dimensional Geometry
  • Probability
  • Linear Programming
  • Relations and Functions: Types of relations: reflexive, composite functions, symmetric, transitive and equivalence relations. One to one and onto functions, inverse of a function. Binary operations. Definition, domain, principal value branch, range. Graphs of inverse trigonometric functions. Elementary properties of inverse trigonometric functions

Chemistry:

  • Solutions: Types of solutions, Solubility of gases in liquids, solid solutions, colligative properties, expression of concentration of solutions of solids in liquids
  • Electrochemistry: Redox reactions, conductance in electrolytic solutions, variations of conductivity with concentration, specific and molar conductivity,
  • Solid State: Classification of solids based on different binding forces
  • General Principles and Processes of Isolation of Elements
  • Chemical Kinetics: Rate of a reaction (Average and instantaneous), factors affecting rate of reaction: concentration, catalyst, temperature,
  • Surface Chemistry: Adsorption
  • d and f Block Elements: Lanthanoids, Actinoids
  • p – Block Elements: Group 15 Elements, Group 16 Elements, Group 17 Elements, Group 18 Elements
  • Haloalkanes and Haloarenes

  • General awareness of Culture, Art, Craft, Design and Environment in Indian as well as in Global context – Various topics and sub-topics, issues & concerns, people, material, techniques, tools, period, influences and contemporary trends.

Observational, Perceptual and Reasoning abilities: 

  • Analyze your observations, express your point of view and present in a systematic and structured manner. Ability to read and see objects and information beyond obvious details, make comparisons, form opinions, make connections, draw meanings & conclusions. 

Visualization: 

  • Understanding and visualization of simple and complex 2D & 3D geometric shapes, their manipulations and spatial relationships through representations in pictorial and geometric forms

Creative and Problem Solving abilities: 

  • Ability to identify a problem and attempt to provide solutions. Ability to visualize and relate images around us.

Dear Student,

To take admission in the Symbiosis Law School, Noida, you must have passed intermediate or its equivalent from a recognised board of education. Candidates must have acquired a minimum aggregate of 45% marks or its equivalent grade in the qualifying exam. 5% relaxation is provided to the SC/ST candidates.

Students are shortlisted for admission at the college based on the institute level law entrance exam named as SLAT. Some colleges that provide direct LLB admission based on class 12th marks can also be checked here.

Is there an individual section-wise cutoff for SET B general for SCMS Pune BBA? I scored 47 (English - 11, Maths -12, GK - 17, Logical reasoning - 7) But when I logged in to book PI slot, it's showing not selected.

Dear Student,

47 is a low score in the SET 2020 exam and not enough to shortlist you to the PI stage for Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies (SCMS), Pune.

You can check the SET 2020 Cut Off to get an idea of the marks required for selection. 2019 cut off for SET went as high as 87 for the General category candidates.
