LSAT India is held every year to offer eligible students admission in various law programmes offered at institutions/colleges of India. LSAT India 2019 examination will be organised on 19th May 2019 and the result will be issued on 1st June 2019. In India, the LSAT examination is held only once in a year.  The online registration process of LSAT India 2018 began on 16th October 2018 and the last date for submitting the application form is 6th May 2019. LSAT India 2019 eligibility criteria mentions the age and minimum qualifications required to apply for the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) 2019. Prior to filling the applications form of LSAT India, it is advisable to examine the eligibility criteria of LSAT India 2019. If any candidate fails to fulfill any of the LSAT India 2019 eligibility criteria, then he/she will be prohibited at any phase during the admission process of the participating colleges/institutes. Each participating colleges/institute will have its own eligibility criteria and it will be different from each other and also vary with the candidate's category. Those planning to take the examination must keep handy all the important documents in order to prove their eligibility during all the phases of LSAT India selection.

As per LSAT India 2019 Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidate should be a citizen of India.
  • For BA LLB Programme: Candidates should complete their Class XII or any other equivalent examination with minimum 45% marks from CBSE or any other recognised board in any discipline/subject.
  • For LLB programme: Candidates should have Bachelor’s degree in any discipline/subject with minimum 45% marks in the qualifying examination.
  • For LLM programme: Candidates should have completed their 3 years Bachelor’s degree (LLB) or 5 years Bachelor’s degree (BA LLB ) with 45% aggregate marks. The LL.B or BA LLB degrees should be provided by a recognised Indian law college/institute according to the BCI (Bar Council of India) norms.
  • Age Criteria: There is no age limit criteria to apply for LSAT India 2019 examination. Candidates will have to check the age limit determined by various colleges/institutions in which they are seeking admission.

Candidates who fulfill these conditions will be called eligible to take the exam and finally apply for admission to law colleges/institutes. Those who do not fulfill the eligibility criteria of LSAT India 2019, will be disqualified from participating in the entire admission process. LSAT India 2019 Syllabus

To know more about the LSAT India 2019 examination, candidates should go through the LSAT India syllabus given below in detail and prepare accordingly.

Analytical Reasoning Section: 

In this section, the question will be asked in the rules or principles that describe relationships between things, events, person and set of statements. These questions measure the ability to understand the structure of relationships, and logical conclusions are drawn about that structure. The questions of analytical reasoning illustrate complex types of analysis that a law candidate works during a legal problem-solving.

Reading Comprehension Section:

In this section, the ability to read questions, with understanding and insight, are generally prepared for examples of complex and lengthy materials, which usually comes to law schools. There are four sets of Comprehension section, each has a selection of reading material, then there are four to nine questions which can be from reasoning and reading.

Logical Reasoning Section:

In this section, questions will be asked from the general language. These questions assess the critically evaluate, complete arguments and the ability to analyze. For each logical reasoning question, the candidates need to read and understand a short passage, then answer a question about it. These skills including :

  • Applying principles or rules,
  • Drawing well-supported conclusions,
  • Determining how additional evidence affects an argument,
  • Reasoning by analogy,
  • Identifying argument flaws.

LSAT India 2019 Exam Pattern

The LSAT India 2019 is a standardised examination of Verbal Reasoning and Reading Skills prepared by the LSAC for candidates seeking admission in law schools/institute/colleges of India. LSAT India has been introduced after the world famous LSAT. Testing professionals with advanced degrees in English, linguistics, psychometrics, and logic have developed the test. LSAT India Exam Pattern strictly adheres to the recommended specifications, which are basically the same every year. Each paper question has been subjected to several levels of review and pretesting, so the candidates can be ensured that there is only one correct answer to each question. LSAT India 2019 will be conducted in offline (Pen & Paper Based) mode.

The LSAT India 2019 has three sections: Analytical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension and Logical Reasoning. There is no negative marking in the LSAT India examination. Only right answers contribute to a candidate's score. Therefore, candidates should not leave any question unanswered and should guess the responses to questions for which they do not have the right answers.

LSAT India 2018 Exam Analysis

LSAT India is a popular law entrance exam, which was conducted on May 20, 2018 across the country. The exam was carried out in offline mode in 20 cities. Within the duration of two hours and twenty minutes, candidates had to attempt around 92-100 questions. LSAT India 2017 Exam Analysis

LSAT India 2017 examination took place successfully in 22 test centres across the country on May 21, 2017. There were 92 questions in the LSAT India 2017 question paper, and the candidates were given 35 minutes time to attempt questions in each of the four sections. LSAT India 2017 had questions from Reading Comprehension, Logical Reasoning, Second Logical Reasoning and Analytical Reasoning. The examination authority had prepared 4-5 question paper sets this year.

The candidates who took the 2017 examination felt that the paper was of easy to moderate difficulty level. The candidates were able to attempt all the questions given in the question paper on time.

One of the students expressed that the difficulty level was moderate. Most of the questions from Logical Reasoning were of statement type. He was able to complete the examination 5-10 minutes prior to the allotted time. Another student expressed his satisfaction with the nature of questions. He was of the opinion that the difficulty level was moderate.

A student who appeared for both CLAT and AILET 2017 examination earlier felt that LSAT 2017 paper was easier in comparison. He indicated that AILET was the toughest law examination in 2017, followed by CLAT and then LSAT.

Another student who took CLAT 2017 examination earlier felt that LSAT 2017 question paper was tough. The entire paper was English and Logical Reasoning based, he said.

A student from Dehradun felt that English was the most difficult among all the sections in the examination. However, first and second logical reasoning sections were easy. There were also questions from numerical ability.

One of the students felt that the reading comprehension was difficult. However, compared to CLAT and AILET examination, LSAT was easy.

The opinion given by the students clearly indicates that LSAT 2017 was easy. Almost all the students were able to complete the examination on time.

How to Prepare for LSAT India 2019

Designed by Law School Admission Council (LSAC), LSAT India is a reasoning and reading skills test, which is scheduled to be held on May 19, 2019 across the country.

In the paper, there are around 92-100 questions that candidates have to attempt within the duration of two hours and twenty minutes.

LSAT India is a gateway for admission in more than 80 law schools in the country. Therefore, it is extremely important for law aspirants to attempt all the questions in the paper to the best of their ability.

LSAT India 2019 will have questions related to Analytical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension. While preparing for this law entrance exam, students should keep in mind that it is a skills test and not a knowledge test. Apart from this, students should keep the following pointers in mind for the exam day.

Reach Your Exam Venue Before the Scheduled Time: The examination will begin at 10:30 AM on the exam day. However, candidates must reach the venue around 9:30 AM, which is atleast an hour prior to the commencement of the exam. Those who will reach after 10 AM will not be permitted to appear for the exam.

Carry Necessary Documents: Candidates must ensure that they have all the necessary documents such as admit card, identity proof, etc. on the exam day. Those who forget to bring the required documents could be barred from taking the exam.

Go Through the Paper Carefully: When you sit down to answer the paper, read all the questions carefully to avoid making any silly mistakes. Take your time while going through the paper as the exam is known to have longer questions which are bound to consume a lot of time. 

Attempt All Questions: Candidates taking LSAT India 2019 must try and attempt as many questions as possible because there is ample time to solve the paper. 

No Negative Marking: The best part about taking LSAT India 2019 is that it has no negative marking. So, you must try and attempt all the questions even if you're not sure about the answers.

Time Management: Since every section in LSAT India has a fixed time duration, you must try and manage your time well. This is because once the allotted time is over for a particular section, you will not be allowed to return to that specific test section and attempt questions that were left unanswered.

Revision: Approximately 35 minutes will be given to solve each section in LSAT India 2019. Therefore, you should try to answer all the questions in a particular section within the fixed duration and keep at least 5-10 minutes spare to do a quick revision of that particular section.

LSAT India 2019 Result

The LSAT India 2019 Result will be announced on 1st June 2019.  The LSAT India result is prepared on the basis of candidates' overall performance and it indicates their position against other candidates. More than 80 law schools participate in LSAT India for admission to their LLB and LLM programmes. Candidates must remember that the LSAT India result 2019 will be valid for one year only and will be accepted by the law schools located in India. 

Steps to Download LSAT India 2019 Result

  • On the home page, click on the link 'Download Result'.
  • A new page will open where you have to provide your Email ID and Password.
  • Then, click on the 'Log in' button for downloading the result and your LSAT India 2019 result will be displayed on the computer screen.
  • Download and take a printout of LSAT India 2019 result.

The LSAT 2019 scorecard will be accessible for 2 months from the date of declaration of results and after that, the request cannot be made. The LSAT scorecard will not be sent via email or post/courier.

LSAT India Scores 2019

LSAT India exam scores will be announced on the percentile basis. This means that LSAT India 2019 exam result will be announced in such a way that the performance of each candidate can be compared to others within his/her candidate group (BA.LLB programme or LL.B./ LL.M. Candidates will have to secure the minimum cut-off score to get selected for the counselling rounds of the various participating institutes. Each law school will have its own cut-off scores and it will be different from each other.

LSAT India 2019 Counselling

LSAT India 2019 Counselling Process will be organised by associated colleges of Pearson VUE for admission to BA LLB (5 years integrated law programmes), B.Com LLB and B.Sc LLB programmes.

Person VUE cannot declare any date for counselling process of LSAT India 2019. However, the associated colleges will be accepting the scores of LSAT India 2019 for admission through the counselling process.

LSAT India 2019 is going to be conducted on 19th May 2019, while the result of the test will be announced by 1st June 2019. Individual colleges may have different selection criteria. Please check the eligibility and selection criteria before applying for colleges. LSAT Score of a candidate is the predominant factor in the selection criteria. In order to secure admission to a law school, candidates must score within the scale fixed by the respective law school.
