AILET 2024 Exam Pattern: The AILET 2024 exam pattern provides the candidates with clarity about how the AILET question paper will be designed. The National Law University, Delhi will organise the test on December 10, 2023, in an offline mode. The AILET exam pattern indicates the number of questions, total marks, exam mode, test duration and marking scheme.

The major sections include English, Current Affairs and General Knowledge, and Logical Reasoning for the BA LLB exam. Meanwhile, as per the revised exam pattern of AILET for Master of Law (LLM), the test will only have objective-type questions this year. The branches of law from which candidates of AILET LLM can expect questions cover sections like the English language, Legal Reasoning and a few questions from topics such as the Law of Torts, Business Law, Family Laws and other law branches. Apart from these, the paper pattern also helps the candidates know what should be considered before and during the exam.

AILET 2024 exam pattern for LLM has been changed. Here are the major pointers -

  • The exam for LLM will be MCQ based with 100 questions of one mark each.
  • Questions will be from different law branches.
  • The exam duration will be 120 minutes.
  • 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong attempt.

AILET 2024 Syllabus

The AILET 2024 syllabus is divided into three sections for the BA LLB and two parts for the LLM. Candidates must be able to prioritize topics after they have a strong knowledge of what they need to study for the exam. Essentially, the AILET syllabus outlines all areas students would eventually prepare to clear the AILET exam at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

  • Every correct answer will be awarded 1 mark.

  • For every incorrect answer, 0.25 mark will be deducted. Therefore, four wrong answers will lead to a deduction of 1 mark.

Below are some of the important points to note regarding the AILET 2024 exam pattern - 

  • AILET is an offline entrance exam and lasts 120 minutes. Candidates will be issued question booklets, OMR sheets, and a rough sheet and the exam is held in a pen-paper-based mode.
  • Candidates must fill out the OMR page with a blue or black ballpoint pen.
  • In AILET BA LLB, all questions are required. Each question is worth one mark, and each incorrect response is worth 0.25 points.
  • The total number of marks is 150, for both BA LLB (Hons.) and 100 for Master of Law - LLM.
  • The total number of questions will be 150 for BA LLB and 100 for LLM, which are objective-type questions / multiple-choice questions.
  • The medium for answering the paper is English.
  • There will be a total of 3 sections in the BA LLB paper. Attempting questions from each section is mandatory. Students will have a choice to answer any 2 questions from the descriptive part.
  • The exam is conducted once a year.
