Poltava State Medical & Dental University was founded by the dental faculty of Kharkiv Medical Academy in 1921. It was earlier named the Poltava Ukrainian Medical Stomatological (oral medicine) Academy (PUMSA) in 1967 but was renamed the Poltava State Medical University (PSMU) in 1994 after receiving the sixth-highest accreditation level because of its low death rate during surgery. The university founded a faculty for international students in 1992 to improve the quality of medical education and training offered to foreign students. The Poltava State Medical and Dental University is recognised by the World Health Organization (WHO), I-MED School, National Medical Commission (NMC), Medical Council of Nepal, PMDC, European Universities Association and several other countries.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

The campus of Poltava State Medical & Dental University is established in a picturesque location in Poltava, Ukraine. The university comprises sixteen buildings including five academic buildings, a library, four dormitories, apartments, a vivarium, hangars, reading rooms, a sports complex, a dining room, a cafe, and a health and sports camp. Students are provided with a comfortable experience at the PSMU campus and all necessary facilities are offered at the university premises. Poltava State Medical & Dental University offers quality education in General Medicine, Dentistry, Pediatrics, Pharmacy, and Nursing. Postgraduate and preparatory courses are also provided by the university which include training as well.
