CBSE Class 10 English Assessment Scheme 2026
A couple of guidelines have been released by the Central Board of Secondary Education regarding the assessment scheme for class 10th English, which are:
- You can use your own expressions and impressions to answer questions; due marks will be awarded accordingly.
- If a student has attempted an extra question, the answer to the question deserving more marks should be retained, and the other answer should be scored out with a note “Extra Question”.
- If more than one option is mentioned in the answer to multiple-choice questions, then no marks are awarded.
CBSE Class 10 English Exam Grading System
In CBSE Class 10 English exam, students need to score at least 33% marks to pass the exam. On the basis of marks scored, students will be provided with the grades. The board follows a nine-point grading system. On scoring between 91 to 100 marks, students will get A1 grade, which is the highest grade. The minimum passing grade is D, which will be provided to students on scoring between 33 to 40 marks. The board will provide E1 and E2 grades to the students on scoring between 21 to 32 and 0 to 20 marks respectively.
CBSE Class 10 Result 2026
The CBSE Class 10 result 2026 is likely to be announced in the second week of May 2026. The board will upload the result on its official website through a link. Using the roll number, school number, and date of birth, students can check the result online. In addition, they can also use SMS service or IVRS facility to check the result. The board also provides an opportunity to check the result through the Umang app and DigiLocker. The marks scored in all subjects will be mentioned online.
CBSE Class 10 Marksheet 2026
After the announcement of the CBSE Class 10 result 2026, the board will issue the marksheet which will include the details of students and marks scored by them in each subject. The students can also check the provisional marksheet online. After a few days from the release of the result, the board will issue the marksheets to school principals. Then, students can visit their respective schools and collect the marksheet. The students who failed to score the passing marks will have to appear for the compartment exams and improve the score. Then, they will be able to collect the marksheet.
