DU Assistant Professor Post Eligibility Criteria 2021

To apply for the post of Assistant Professor at DU you must meet the eligibility. The Delhi University eligibility criteria for the Assistant Professor is given in detail below:

  • The candidate must have passed a post-graduation/ master's degree with a minimum of 55 per cent marks.

  • Reserved category candidates are provided with 5% relaxation in their post-graduation

  • Candidate must have a doctorate degree in the respective field

  • Candidates who have received their PhD in correspondence or distance education are not eligible to apply for the Delhi University Assistant Professor Job

  • The candidate who has obtained their PhD degree from overseas should submit the Certificate of Equivalence from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi.

  • In addition to complying qualification shown above the candidate must have passed the National Eligibility Test (NET) .

How to Apply for DU Assistant Professor Post?

To apply for the post of Assistant Professor at DU you must be familiar with the application process. The application process is simple and all the steps are explained below.

  • Candidates must first visit the Delhi University's official website (www.du.ac.in)

  • Scroll down to the last page of the website and click on Jobs and opportunities option under the tab of Work with DU

  • After clicking Jobs and opportunities options, a new window will appear on the screen showing the number of available jobs at the University of Delhi.

  • Click on Assistant Professor Job and complete the application form with all of your personal information, qualifications and work experiences.

  • In order to support your personal information and educational qualification, he or she will have to upload their supporting documents which be verified at the time of interview.

  • After submission, it is advisable to take the printout of the application form for future reference

Documents Required for DU Assistant Professor Post

While filling the application form for the post of Assistant Professor, you will have to upload certain documents. The same documents will be verified at the time of personal interview.

  • Class 10th Certificate

  • Class 12th Certificate

  • Degree Certificate

  • Certificate of PG Degree

  • NET Certificate

  • PhD Degree (if any)

  • Certificates of Work Experience

Delhi University Assistant Professor Post Selection Process 2021

  • Delhi University selection process for the post of Assistant Professor will take place in three phases. In the first phase, you will be assessed on the grounds of educational qualification and work experience. After that, the shortlisting will be done on the basis of the same.

  • The second stage will include document verification of the shortlisted candidates.

  • The third and the final stage in the selection process is the personal interview. In the personal interview, you will be assessed on your teaching abilities and communication skills

Dear Student, 

The board has not released the UP 12th Date Sheet 2026 yet. Also, so far the board has not released any notification about the exams to be held in two phases. The final date sheet is expected to be released by November 2025.
