The admissions for B.Tech, B.Arch M.Tech and M.Plan programs at Gautam Buddha University for 2020-21 academic sessions have begun.
The University conducts GPTU (General Proficiency Test for Undergraduates) for admission to B.Tech.
- The admission in the B.Arch Program is done based on candidates' performance in the NATA entrance exam.
- The Admission for the M.Tech program is done based on the General Proficiency Test (GPT) for the Postgraduates programme followed by a personal interview.

GBU B Tech, B Arch M Tech and M Plan Eligibility Criteria 2020
The eligibility criteria for all of these courses differ. So, we have mentioned the entry requirements for B.Tech, B.Arch, M.Tech and M.Plan separately below.
B Tech Eligibility Criteria at GBU
Candidates should have passed in 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main subjects while obtaining at least 50 percent marks (45 percent for SC / ST) or equal class.
Candidates must pass with at least 40 percent marks separately in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics
And the candidates need to appear for the GPTU examination carried out by the Gautam Buddha University
B Arch Eligibility Criteria at GBU
Candidates should have passed the 10+2 examination scheme with a cumulative score of at least 50 percent in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
And have a valid NATA score
OR
Applicants should have passed 10 + 3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject while obtaining at least 50 percent marks with valid NATA score
M Tech Eligibility Criteria at GBU
Candidates must have secured a B.E. or B.Tech. degree from any recognized university with at least 55 percent marks (50 percent marks for SC / ST candidates) or its equivalent degree in the relevant specialization.
M Plan Eligibility Criteria at GBU
Candidates must have secure B. Plan or B.E./ B.Tech in civil engineering / Arch / MA in Geography / Economics / Sociology with a minimum mark of 55 percent (50 percent for SC / ST) or its equivalent degree.

The application form can be filled in an online mode through the official website of GBU. Mentioned below are the steps that can be followed for the same.
For Domestic Students:
Candidates need to first visit the official website (www.gbu.epravesh.com/).
Then, click on the admission tab and a new window will appear on the screen.
Click on the Admission information and choose the option “Apply for Admission” (Admission information > Apply for Admission)
If a candidate wants to fill multiple programmes across the same/ different Schools, then he/ she will have to log in separately for all such programmes, i.e. individual logins need to be done for choosing the programmes
After choosing a programme, begin filling the application form.
Register with the university website by entering their name, email id, and contact number.
Tap “Create Account”.
Enter the required personal information.
Type the academic details.
Candidates must give four choices of entrance test centers at the time of filling up the application form
Upload scanned the photograph and supporting documents
Pay application fee of INR 1200/-(general category) and INR 600/-(SC/ST category)
Click “Submit”
Take a print out of the submitted application form for future reference
For Foreign Students:
A Foreign National seeking admission to a course in Gautam Buddha University is required to send his/ her application in the prescribed Application Form.
Applicants can download the application form from the university official Website: http://www.gbu.ac.in
The application form should only be filled out by the applicant in his / her own handwriting in BLOCK LETTERS, neatly and legibly, in the English language.
The applicant must write his / her name, the name of the parent, the name of the mother as indicated in the Board / School Certificate
In the application form, no column should be left blank as Incomplete application forms will be rejected.
A The latest colour photograph of the passport size should be placed in the box provided.
The Application Form should be attested by the Indian Diplomatic Representative or a responsible official of the Ministry of Education of the applicant’s country or an Official of the applicant’s country’s Embassy / High Commission in India.
Photocopies of certificates and copies of the syllabus should be included in the application form. Application Forms not accompanied with required/requested documents will not be considered further. If accepted, the applicant will have to submit original certificates/documents.
After submitting the Application form, no students are allowed to take back their Application form.
Submission of Application Form does not guarantee admission
The admission will be granted to the students only if they have a valid Student Visa. And the admission will not be granted on Tourist Visa/ X-Visa
Request for change, of course, will not be entertained under any circumstances
All Foreign Nationals who secure provisional admission to University will be allotted accommodation after their arrival with a valid Visa
A provisional letter of admission does not guarantee a seat in any specific programmes of the University.

B.Tech Selection Process at GBU:
In order to get admission through the University quota, the candidate needs to appear for the GPTU - Online Admission Test conducted by the university. Based on the GPTU marks, the candidates will be shortlisted for the B.Tech. program at Gautam Buddha University.
GPTU reflects the General Proficiency Test for Undergraduates. GPTU is a Computer Based Online Entrance Test conducted by the Gautam Buddha University. It is a gateway for the candidates seeking admission to the B.Tech program in GBU. GPTU will consist of questions related to Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects. Physics & Chemistry will have a 30% weightage each and the mathematics will have a 40% weightage. The candidates who have cleared the GPTU Test will be then for the document verification process.
M.Tech Selection Process at GBU:
In order to be admitted to the M.Tech program, students must appear for the GPT- Computer Based Online Entrance Test administered by Gautam Buddha University. The applicants will be shortlisted for the B.Tech program based on the GPT results.
GPT reflects for General Proficiency Test for Postgraduates. GPT is a gateway for the applicants seeking admission to GBU's M.Tech program. GPT Entrance Test will consist of three sections such as Subject Knowledge, English Awareness, and General Knowledge. Subject Awareness has a 70% weightage and the rest two sections have 15% weightage each.
For M.Tech in Biotechnology
For admission to M.Tech in Biotechnology, the GPT test will consist of questions from four different fields: Chemistry, Advanced Biology, English Awareness, and General Knowledge.
In GPT Test in M.Tech in Biotechnology the Advanced Biology section will consist of 50% weightage, the Chemistry section will have 20% weightage. Where the English Awareness and General Knowledge will have 15% weightage each. The candidates who have cleared the GPT Test will be then for the document verification process.
GPT Key Points:-
GPT or General Proficiency Test consists of questions from three different fields such as Subject Awareness, English Proficiency, and General Knowledge.
Awareness of the subject has the most weightage, i.e. 70%. The remaining two sections are weighted by 15 percent each.
There will be four sections in M.Tech in biotechnology such as Advanced Biology, Chemistry, English Proficiency, and General Knowledge.
Advanced Biology will have a 50% weightage, Chemistry will have 20% weightage, and English Proficiency and General Awareness will have a 15% weightage each.
B.Arch Selection Process at GBU:
B. Arch admission at Gautam Buddha University is done based on NATA entrance exam. Candidates will be shortlisted based upon the marks obtained in 10+2/ 10+3 and NATA score (Merit-based on 50% weightage to both 10+2/10+3 marks and NATA Score). The final selection to B.Arch at GBU will be based on the candidate's scores secured in the NATA entrance exam and the scores secured in the qualifying examination. Shortlisted candidates will be then called for a Personal Interview after the publication of the merit list for 2020 B.Arch admission at Gautam Buddha University.
M.Plan Selection Process at GBU:
The Admission will be based on merit in qualifying examination followed by a Personal Interview conducted by the university
Seat Reservation at GBU 2020
At GBU some seats will be reserved for the SC/ST/OBC category candidates as per the Uttar Pradesh Government rules and Gautam Buddha University rules.
In the respective qualifying examination, sportsperson with relevant certificates of participation in national/ international sporting events may be given 5 percent relaxation.
