The Railway Recruitment Board conducts the Section Controller recruitment for different zonal railways in India. The graduates in any discipline are welcome to apply for the post on the condition that they meet the required age and medical criteria. Key highlights include:

Railways Section Controller Selection Process 2025
Selection of the post of the Railways Section Controller is divided into four major phases:
- Computer-Based Test (CBT)
It is a computer-based test of 100 questions, carrying 100 marks, with a time limit of 120 minutes. Marking of any wrong answer is taken negatively at one-third. The CBT contributes 70 per cent to the overall merit.
- Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)
The qualifying candidates to the CBT are invited to CBAT. This exam checks decision-making, alertness and aptitude pertaining to train operations. There is no negative marking in this stage. CBAT marks are of 30 per cent weightage in the final merit, and it is obligatory to qualify this stage.
- Document Verification (DV)
Here, the shortlisted candidates will be required to provide original documents for the age, education and category verification.
- Medical Examination
Before eventual appointment, candidates are required to fulfil the A-2 standard for medical fitness, such as vision and general fitness.
