The guidelines for finalizing the UGC NET Commerce Cutoff 2025 are mentioned below:

Step 1 : The total number of candidates qualified in UGC NET is equal to 6% of the candidates who appeared in both papers of the exam.

Step 2 : Vacancies allocated according to the reservation policy of the Government of India

Step 3 : Candidates should score the minimum marks for getting selected as JRF and Assistant Professor:

Example : No. of candidates to be declared qualified for Assistant Professor in ‘Commerce’ for the Scheduled Caste (SC) category	Candidates from the SC category securing at least 35% aggregate marks in Paper 1 and 2 for ‘Commerce’ (x) Total slots available for SC category as per Step II (÷) Total number of candidates belonging to the SC category over all candidates who get 35% aggregate marks in both the papers

The aggregate percentage secured by candidates in both papers corresponding to the no. of slots shall determine the qualifying cut-off for eligibility for Assistant Professor in Economics. Similarly, cutoffs are decided for all other subjects and categories.

Step 5 : All candidates (who appeared for both Assistant Professor and JRF) out of the total no. of qualified candidates shall be considered for JRF.

Step 6 : According to the reservation policy, the total number of slots available for awarding JRF is distributed among various categories. The procedure for subject-wise cum category-wise allocation of JRF slots is given below:

Example : No. of candidates to be declared qualified for JRF & Eligibility for Assistant Professor in ‘Commerce’ for the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category	No. of candidates from ST category who opted for JRF and qualified for Assistant Professor both in ‘Commerce’ (x) Total no. of ST category candidates for JRF slots (÷) Total no. of candidates from ST category over all candidates who opted for JRF and qualified for Assistant Professor
