UGC NET Exam Day Guidelines

UGC NET 2024 Exam Day Guidelines: The UGC NET exam for the June Cycle is slated to be held between June 10 and June 21, 2024. It is crucial for the candidates to report to the examination centre by the designated time, i.e. by 8:45 am for the first shift, and by 2:45 pm for the second shift. The UGC NET 2024 exam day schedule will be included in the admit card, along with other crucial information like the exam date, centre name, full address, and exam timings. Candidates are required to read the instructions provided on the admit card carefully and adhere to them throughout the duration of the exam to avoid being disqualified during the paper. Candidates must keep in mind that they must bring their admit cards and a legitimate photo ID as proof of identity to the examination centre it is strictly forbidden to enter the examination hall without these documents. 

The first shift of the exam will be conducted from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and the second shift will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. National Testing Agency has provided the revised criteria that candidates must not be older than 30 years of age. Documents Required on UGC NET Exam Day 2024

The following documents will be required on UGC NET Exam Day 2024:

  • Admit Card and Self Declaration (Undertaking) duly filled out on the NTA website (a clear printable on A4 size paper).
  • A supplementary photograph to be printed on the attendance sheet.
  • A basic transparent ballpoint pen.
  • Personal clear water bottle.
  • Sanitizer for personal use (50 ml).
  • PwD certificate: If applicable, candidates must carry their PwD certificate issued by the competent authority
  • Photo ID proof: Candidates must also carry a valid and original photo ID proof to the test centre. Documents that candidates can carry as ID proof are PAN Card/ Driving License/ Voter ID/ Passport/ Aadhaar Card (with photograph)/ Aadhaar Enrolment No/ Ration Card.

UGC NET 2024: Things Not to Carry

Candidates are advised to not to bring personal belongings to the UGC NET 2024 exam center, including electronic devices, mobile phones, and other banned/prohibited items stated in the information bulletin. Personal possessions will not be kept safe by examination officials, and there will be no such facility. Thick-soled shoes and clothing with huge buttons are not authorized.

UGC NET 2024 Exam Day - Do’s & Don’ts at Exam Center

  1. To avoid congestion at the time of admission and to maintain social distance, candidates should check the Reporting/Entry time at the Center specified on the UGC NET 2024 Admit Card and arrive only at the reporting time.
  2. After sanitizing their hands, candidates must paste a passport-sized photograph and sign the attendance sheet.
  3. Candidates must produce identity and proof of residency.
  4. Do not bring prohibited items to the exam center because there are no storage facilities.
  5. As advised, candidates must bring a completed admit card.
  6. All applicants must download, read, and strictly adhere to the COVID-19 instructions and advisory, which are contained with the admit card.
  7. Because the examination facilities are monitored by CCTV and equipped with jammers, no candidate should utilize dishonest techniques or engage in unfair examination procedures.
  8. If it is revealed that an applicant has submitted several applications and/or attended more than one date/shift, the candidature will be annulled and legal action will be taken, including exclusion from any future NTA examinations.
  9. Candidates are advised to keep a close eye on the NTA's website for updates. They should also check their mailbox at the registered email address and SMS at the registered Mobile no. for the most latest changes and information.

UGC NET 2024: Test Center Guidelines 

  • Dress Code: Candidates appearing for the UGC NET 2024 examination are advised to adhere to a specific dress code to ensure a smooth and secure testing environment. Here are the dress code guidelines:
  • Footwear: Candidates should avoid wearing shoes or footwear with thick soles, as these are not permitted within the test center.
  • Attire: Candidates must refrain from wearing clothing with large buttons during the examination.
  • Personal Belongings: To maintain the integrity of the examination and streamline the process, candidates are not allowed to bring certain personal belongings into the test center. These restrictions include:
  • Mobile Phones: Candidates should not carry mobile phones inside the test center.
  • Purses: Carrying purses is also prohibited.
  • Electronic Devices: Electronic devices such as calculators are not allowed.
Please note that the exam authority will not be responsible for the safekeeping of any personal belongings, and candidates should leave such items at home or in a secure location.

UGC NET 2024: Exam Day Instructions

Candidates participating in the UGC NET 2024 examination must adhere to the following important instructions to avoid disqualification:

  • Reporting Time: Candidates should arrive at the test center as per the reporting time specified on their admit card.
  • Admit Card Instructions: It is crucial for candidates to carefully read and follow the instructions mentioned on the admit card during the examination.
  • Admit Card and ID Proof: No candidate will be allowed to enter the exam hall without their admit card and a valid photo ID proof.
  • Entry Time: Candidates must ensure they enter the exam center before 8:30 AM for the first shift and before 2:30 PM for the second shift. Latecomers will not be permitted to enter.
  • Reporting at Exam Room: Candidates should report to the exam room at 8:45 AM for the first shift and 2:45 PM for the second shift.
  • Staying in the Exam Hall: Candidates must not leave the UGC NET exam hall before the examination concludes.
  • Follow the Invigilator's Instructions: After completing the exam, candidates should wait for instructions from the invigilator and should not immediately leave their seats.
  • Special Attire: Candidates wearing special attire such as burqa, hijab, turban, etc., should arrive early at the exam center for thorough checking.
  • Seat Assignment: Candidates are required to sit in the seats designated for their roll numbers. Changing rooms or seats independently may result in the cancellation of candidature.
  • Question Paper: Candidates must ensure that the UGC NET 2024 question paper displayed on the computer is relevant to their chosen subject. If not, they should inform the invigilator.
  • Rough Work: Calculations and rough work should only be done on the provided rough sheets at the test centers.
  • Fair Play: Candidates must not engage in any unfair practices during the examination to maintain a fair and secure testing environment.

UGC NET 2024 Reporting Time at Exam Center

  1. Candidates will be denied entry to the exam center after 8.30 a.m. in the first shift and 2.30 p.m. in the second shift.
