  • Gained admission to the university through the All India Entrance Examination (AIEE).

  • The university must receive funding from ICAR's "Strengthening and Development of Higher Agricultural Education in India" program.

Renewable each year if you:

  • Maintain good merit and conduct, as officially certified by the Head of the College/University.

  • Avoid absence without prior official permission and refrain from participating in any strikes or agitations.

  • Pursue studies on a full-time basis and not hold any job, even part-time.

  • Must not accept any other scholarship or financial assistance during the undergraduate program.

  • Not leave the course of study within the first month of admission.

  • Must not change the initial subject for which the scholarship (NTS) was awarded.

ICAR Merit‑cum‑Means Scholarship for Undergraduate Students

INR 1,000 / month (≈ INR 12,000/year)

  • Indian domicile applicant.

  • Must meet the specific Means Test conditions (see below).

  • Must have achieved a minimum of 60% marks or an equivalent grade in their qualifying examination.

  • In the event of a score tie among applicants, selection will be based on inter-se merit, with preference given to those with higher marks in science subjects.

  • Must be pursuing undergraduate studies in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Home Science, Dairy, or Animal Husbandry.

Means Test Conditions

  • The applicant's family, specifically the parents' annual income, must not exceed INR 1,00,000.

  • This scheme does not offer a provision for a half scholarship.

  • If the parents' annual income is above INR 1,00,000, the student is not eligible for the scholarship funds. However, they may still receive a national prize of INR 500 and a certificate of merit.

Valid for the full UG course duration if conditions (income, marks) are maintained. The application is often made through the college/university.

ICAR Post‑Matric Scholarship for SC/ST Students

INR 1,000 per month + Contingent grant of INR 750 per year for tuition fees, books, uniforms, etc.

  • Must be Indian

  • Belongs to the SC/ ST category

  • Admitted to agri universities and UG degree programs related to agriculture

Scholarship remains valid provided academic progression and category/income proof are maintained.

State / University Merit Scholarships and Topper Awards
