IIM Rohtak honours eminent stalwarts at Annual Alumni Meet - Aluminati 2023

Indian Institute of Management Rohtak hosted the annual alumni meet, Aluminati 2023, on the 22nd of January 2023. After a gap of 2 years on account of COVID, the 9th edition of the annual alumni meet was held in the physical mode at the IIM Rohtak campus. The meet was attended by alumni of all batches that graduated in the last 10 years. The institute also gave away IIM Alumni Awards 2023 for the contribution of the awardees in the fields of public service and social welfare. This is a one-of-a-kind initiative taken by an IIM. Shri Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, Advisor to Lt. Governor, Jammu & Kashmir and the alumni of IIM Ahmedabad, was honoured with the IIM Alumni Award 2023 for exemplary contribution in public service and administration. The institute also honoured Dr. Vineet Mishra, Director, Institute of Kidney Diseases and Research Centre, Ahmedabad, with the Non-Alumni Award 2023 for exemplary contribution in social service.

Prof. Dheeraj Sharma, Director, IIM Rohtak set the tone of the event by addressing the alumni community. Speaking about the importance of culture in the IIM system, he said, “A sense of ownership is what builds the culture of an institute. Hence, apart from creating responsible managers and leaders, the IIM system ensures that its alumni internalise this value system. The culture becomes a way of life for an IIM alumnus as they become the flag bearers of the system in the corporate world and contribute continuously to the development of the nation.” The IIM Rohtak alumni appreciated the efforts of the institution’s leadership in building the largest and one of the finest management institutions in the country.

Shri Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, while addressing the gathering of students and alumni said, “A good learning is never wasted. One should always be able to learn and relearn based on the requirement of the job and organisation. If you have the right potential, power, and knowledge, you can always contribute to society in the right manner.” He advised the students and alumni to work with persistence and conviction. It is not only about the learnings from the faculty, but also peer learning. “You must always have a positive outlook for learning, look at a problem with the view of finding a solution to it.” Shri Bhatnagar’s development work in J&K was greatly appreciated. Particularly, the sixfold increase in the number of projects executed and completed in the last few years in comparison with 2018-19 was a historic achievement for the progress and development of J&K post revocation of article 370.

While sharing his experience of being able to contribute to society, Dr. Vineet Mishra said, “When you ask favours for the welfare of the society, people are always ready to help if your intentions are genuine. One should always be willing to seek support with an open mind and a humble heart. The attitude of a Digambar who has renounced all possessions and attachments is the right way to approach and devote to social service.” He was appreciated for his One Gujarat One Dialysis initiative which benefits 3 lakh people annually.

The alumni and the students later had an informal interaction as they visited the campus and appreciated the various new initiatives taken by the institute and the student committee. The Alumni Committee of IIM Rohtak also unveiled the Annual Alumni Magazine, Alere, on this occasion. The highlight of the day, however, was a power-packed performance by the musical band, Naalayak. The band ensured that the alumni left Aluminati 2023 with the best of memories.

IIM Rohtak aims to build leaders of the morrow by organizing various events to polish students’ skills and keep them updated about the industry’s current trends, thereby bridging the gap between industry and academia. At present, the institute is placed as the most progressive and revolutionary management institution in the country. The IIM's 2023 shortlist criteria puts more of an emphasis on student quality, which isn't only determined by CAT exam results. As a result, "student profile" is crucial and is seen as crucial for increasing diversity in IIM Classrooms. • CAT Results/Scores - Each IIM shortlist 2023 criteria outlines the minimum required percentile score for both the overall and each section of the CAT exam, which ranges from 70 to 95 percentile.

IIM Eligibility Cut Off vs IIM Call Cut Off - What's the Difference

IIM Eligibility Cut Off vs IIM Call Cut Off: The Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) have a long and elaborate admission process for their flagship Post Graduate Programmes (PGP). Every candidate seeking admission to prestigious institutes must first go through the selection process of the institutes. He/she must have an understanding of every step in the process.

Admissions to the IIMs are based on the Common Admission Test (CAT). CAT 2022 was conducted on November 27, 2022. CAT scores are used by IIMs to shortlist candidates for the second round of admissions i.e. the WAT / PI stage. CAT scores are also given weightage in the final selection criteria of IIMs. It is important to understand how IIMs use CAT scores in their admission process.

IIM Admissions 2023 on CAT Percentile

Every IIM aspirant must be aware of the fact that each IIM announces their CAT cut off percentile score. In the 2023 admission-criteria of IIM Ahmedabad, the institute declared that it did not increase the CAT cut off from 80 percentile. However, every CAT aspirant knows that it is just not possible to receive a call from IIM Ahmedabad with an 80 percentile score in CAT, even though a candidate has cleared the eligibility criteria.

This is because the actual cutoff for MBA admissions at IIM Ahmedabad is much higher than that. In fact, a 99+ percentile score is recommended for anybody aspiring for admission at the institute. There is a huge difference between the CAT eligibility cut off released by IIMs and the actual cutoffs based on which candidates are invited for admission. In this article, we take a look at this difference and what causes this huge gap.

          IIM Eligibility Cut Off 2023

IIM Eligibility cut off is the minimum CAT score that a candidate must have to be eligible for applying to the admission process of IIM. The IIM eligibility cutoff is released in the official admission policy of individual IIMs and can be different for each institute. This cutoff is released before the declaration of CAT results and clearing this cutoff does not guarantee that a candidate will be called for further rounds of admissions at IIMs.

IIMs release the cutoffs as percentile scores required by a candidate in each section as well as the overall percentile required to be eligible for admission. Further, the eligibility cut off is different for each category of candidates. As an example, here is a table providing the detailed eligibility cut off of IIM Lucknow for PGP 2023 admissions.

Category VRC DILR QA Overall Percentile Rank
          General 85 85 85 90

          PWD 50 50 50 65

          IIM Call Cut Off 2023

IIM Call cut off, on the other hand, is the actual minimum CAT percentile that a candidate must have to be shortlisted for the admission rounds at IIMs. IIM Call Cut Off is actually the percentile rank of the lowest position holder in the list of candidates selected for the admission process of an IIM.

There is no official call cut off of the IIMs. Each institute releases their individual merit list and cut off of candidates who are called for the final rounds of admi

Best ROI MBA Colleges in India 2022: Fees, Average Salary, Highest Salary

Master of Business Administration (MBA) is not only one of the most popular courses in India but it also ranks high among the most expensive courses in the country. Top management colleges in India charge a fortune for their flagship business programs, whether it is a PGP or Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM). However, why is it that the high program fee for MBA has no effect on the popularity of the course? It is because MBA also happens to be one of the best-paying degrees in India.

The exact course fee for a PGDM/MBA course from a reputed college in the country varies on the MBA specialization and other details associated with the course. However, on average, the total fees for a PGDM/MBA course range from Rs. 10 - 25 lakhs. It is quite obvious that any student who would be willing to invest such a large amount in their education would expect good returns from the course and MBA is a course that delivers on that promise. If you have completed your management education from a good college such as IIM, you are sure to grab an above-average salary package in the Indian context. Here, an important thing to note is the ROI or Return Over Investment of your course.

What is ROI (Return on Investment)?

If you have researched the best B-schools in India, chances are you have come across the term Return on Investment (ROI). ROI basically means how much you are earning after completing a course vs the amount you spend in completing the course. Note that:

          • A college with low course fees but high salary packages will have a high ROI.

          • A college with high course fees but the same salary package as the previous college will have a lower ROI than the previous college.

As an MBA is an expensive course, many students are on the lookout for MBA scholarships in India and apply for education loans in India to pay for their courses. For such a student, it is especially important to select an MBA college with a good ROI to ensure that he/ she can pay his student loans on time and get the best salary from their degree.

In this article, we have provided the b-schools with the best ROI in India. Candidates can check the list below to find out the approx. the program fee, average salary package, highest salary package, and entrance exams of MBA colleges in India that have the best ROIs.

          • During the counselling process, the candidates have to exercise web options.
          • Based on rank and college preferences, DTE allocates seats.

          • Maharashtra domicile students are eligible to take part in DTE CAP.

Selection Process Through Other Entrance Exams

          • Students who are not interested in taking part in DTE CAP can apply for popular B-Schools individually with a state or national-level entrance test core.
          • These institutes may shortlist the candidates based on their entrance test scores.
          • The shortlisted candidates have to take part in other stages of the selection process that involve a Group Discussion, Written Ability Test, and Personal Interview.
          • The institutes decide the mode of the selection process.
          • The final selection for MBA/MMS course is based on the candidate’s performance in all stages of the selection process.
