Tezpur University Campus Facilities: Hostel Fees, Infrastructure, Address

The fully residential Tezpur University campus is designed to have all facilities that are needed to lead an enriched life. They span from numerous outdoor and indoor sports facilities to other facilities like Canteen, ATM's etc. The academic facilities include labs and libraries and a Wi-Fi campus providing access to the internet via PCs, laptops and mobile devices.

Tezpur University offers a hostel facility to its students. currently, there are five men’s hostels and eight women's hostels. Each hostel has a mess facility. Each hostel offers basic facilities such as internet, washing machine, water purifier, TV in the common room, canteen etc.

Sports Facilities

Tezpur University campus has a playground where students can play at night. Football, volleyball, Basketball, and Tennis are available for students. There are both indoor and outdoor games. There are also a swimming pool and a gym. 

Guest House

The new Guest House of Tezpur University was commissioned in May 2009. the Guest House has 45 furnished rooms, a 30NAseater conference room, a 40NAseater dining hall ( airconditioned). The university serves here vegetarian, non vegetarian and continental cuisines. It also offers 24NAhour accessibility to the internet. 

Library

At present, the Tezpur University library has a collection of 1,12,813 print books, 9,723+ eNAjournals, 1,255 ebooks, 152 print journals, 14 databases, and 10,280 back volumes of journals. Apart from this, the library also contains 2,995 CDs/DVDs, 212 braille books, 2773+ thesis and dissertation, and 1,396 govt. publications. The library users can access all the online services/resources and facilities such as WEBNAOPAC, eNAjournals, ebooks, knowledge repositories, ETDs repositories etc. The library is an RFIDNAenabled and automated library integrated with opensource ILMS i.e. KOHA to provide computerised services to Tezpur University students. The RFIDNAbased automation system offers a self-service KIOSK, Self Book Drop Unit, AntiNATheft Detection System and Flap Barrier.

Health Centre

The Health Centre of Tezpur University was set up along with the foundation of the university in 1995. It facilitates health care services for students, faculty and staff of Tezpur University. At present, it operates under the supervision of experienced Medical Officers. The medical staff consists of a pharmacist, a laboratory technician and a nurse. The health centre offers OPD services. There is also a setup to treat emergency cases. The facilities available in the Health Centre have been further increased. There are specialists like gynaecologists, Cardiologists to cater to the problems of the university community. The health centre conducts wellness awareness programmes and yearly health checkups for all.  In collaboration with the  State Government of Assam, the university health care centre facilitates Covid 19 vaccinations. 

Computer Centre

Tezpur University has a sufficient number of computers to cater to academic needs. From the very beginning, it has been offering computers and other modern devices to the students and faculty members to make the learning experience more enriching. A computer centre was established in 1997 to facilitate a common computational resource centre for academic programmes. The computer centre has implemented a campus LAN with an optical fibre backbone connecting the academic as well as administrative departments. Internet connectivity is provided throughout the campus with 10 Mbps OFC Link (UGCNAINFONET), a 2Mbps Leased Line Link and a VSAT link of 512 Kbps. Wireless LAN is also available to extend connectivity to the hostels and the residential areas. The computer centre maintains one Central Computer Centre (CC) with about 60 latest configured PCs and one central server room.  Besides these servers, one SGINAAltix 350 HighNAperformance computer server system is dedicated for the research community. The computer centre is also well equipped with scanners, laser Printers, DMP printers and multimedia projector.
 

Training and Placement Cell
 

The Tezpur University training and placement cell arranges workshops, seminars and lectures for the students. The students get free career counselling from skilled professionals here. The  Tezpur University training and placement cell prepare students for interviews. It helps students to take part in mock interviews. Sometimes, there are alumni meetings which help the students greatly. The T and P cell is beneficial for the students to find best placements.
