Osmania University's UCE and Andhra University's AUCE are both among the oldest, NAAC-accredited government engineering colleges in India that admit B.Tech students through their own state entrance exam, not JEE. Until 2014, engineering aspirants in undivided Andhra Pradesh chose between Osmania University and Andhra University through a single EAMCET counselling process. After Telangana was formed, admission at UCE Osmania University campus in Hyderabad happens through TG EAPCET, while AUCE Andhra University's North Campus in Visakhapatnam through AP EAPCET. Today, both are the most reputed government engineering colleges in India. However, they differ in NIRF ranking, branches offered, fees, placements, and admission process. For students aspiring to take admission in Deshbandhu College in BSc (Hons) Chemistry, the expected cutoff is 95 for the General category, 92 percentile for the OBC category, 84 percentile for SC, 75% for ST and 94 for the EWS category.
