AIFD Bangalore UG PG Admission 2021

Army Institute of Fashion & Design, popularly known as AIFD, conducts entrance exams for admission of candidates to UG and PG design courses. Established in 2004, AIFD is one of the most popular institutes in the country that imparts quality education in the field of Design and Fashion.

AIFD Application forms are expected to be out in the first week of February 2021. Candidates are required to fill and submit the form before the last date ends. The exam schedule for the year 2021 has not been announced yet, however, candidates can go through the tentative dates in order to stay on track with the exam time-table. The three-year UG course in Fashion and Apparel Design is affiliated to the Bangalore North University. The Design institute also offers an M.Sc programme in Fashion and Apparel Design, which is also affiliated to the Bangalore North University.

AIFD Bangalore UG and PG Application Process 2021

Application Process for UG Course

The application process for the year 2021 for AIFD Bangalore UG course has already begun. Follow the below-mentioned steps to apply:

  • Visit the official website of AIFD.

  • Click on "UG Admission Application for 2021-2020".
  • Click on "New Registration" and register yourself by putting in details like Full Name, Date of Birth, Email ID, Mobile Number, Gender and Marital Status.
  • Log in and submit the online application form after paying the registration fee online.
  • Three choices for examination centre shall be included in the online form.

Application Fee Details for UG Course

Rs. 750 shall be paid online using Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking.

Documents Required for UG Course

  • Original 11th standard Mark Sheet
  • Original 12th standard Mark Sheet
  • Original Class 10th Mark Sheet
  • Original 12th standard Migration Certificate
  • Original 12th standard Transfer Certificate
  • Original 12th standard Character Certificate

Application Process For PG Course

For PG admissions, candidates have to register in offline mode. Below-mentioned is the pointers to apply for the PG course.

  • Fill the form given at the end of the e-prospectus of AIFD.
  • A demand draft for Rs 500 shall be payable at Bangalore towards application in favour of AIFD, Bangalore.
  • Money order/Postal order/Cheque shall not be accepted.
  • The duly filled form shall be sent to the Principal, Army Institute of Fashion & Design, Kothanur Post, Nagareshwara Nagenahalli, Bangalore – 560077.
  • The last date to submit the same is 30th June 2021.
  • A late fee of Rs 100 shall be paid if submitting after 30th June and before 5th July 2021.

Rs. 500 shall be paid online using Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking.

    • Original All semester-wise mark sheet

    • Original 12th standard mark sheet

    • Original Migration Certificate
    • Original TC/Character Certificate

    AIFD Bangalore UG and PG Eligibility Criteria 2021

    For Both UG and PG Course:

    Admission to the UG course shall be for the children of eligible serving Army personnel, eligible ex-Army personnel and children of widows of the Army/war widows. The applicants must belong to any of the following categories:

    • Children of serving Army personnel with not less than 10 years of continuous service in the Army.
    • Children of ex-Army personnel awarded/granted a regular pension, family pension or disability pension, liberalised family pension at the time of superannuation, demise, release medical board/invalid medical board, discharge.
    • Adopted child of Army personnel in case of adoption at least 5 years before seeking admission.
    • Eligible step children who are born from a wedding where at least one parent belonged to the Army.
    • Children of ex-Army medical officers/Army Dental Corps officers presently serving with Indian Air Force/Indian Navy who has worked with the Army for 10 years.
    • Wards of APS personnel, recognised as ex-servicemen according to the Government of India, Ministry of Defence.
    • Wards of APS personnel on deportation and who have served the Army for 10 years.
    • Children of APS personnel who have served APS for 10 years and those who have retired from APS without reversion to P&T Department after completion of their minimum pensionable service of 10 years in the Army.
    • Wards of MNS members who have 10 years service as regular members of MNS or are in receipt of a pension from the Army.
    • Wards of only those TA personnel who have completed 10 years of embodied service.
    • The candidate must be certified by MH/RMO/Registered Medical Practitioner as mentally and physically fit to pursue the UG/PG course.

    Educational Qualification for B.Sc (FAD):

    • Candidate must have passed 10+2 with the same combination of subjects from a recognized by UGC/University.
    • The candidate must have obtained not less than 35% marks in aggregate.
    • Candidates who have passed their 12th examination as a regular candidate shall only be eligible for the B.Sc course.
    • Candidates who have passed 10+2 through Distance Education System or National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) must have the same combination of subjects in 11th and 12th standard.

    Only for PG Course:

    Unsubscribed seats for Army wards shall be filled up according to the following:

    • Wards of ex-Army personnel who have served for 5 to 10 consecutive years shall be given first priority.
    • Wards of persons of Assam Rifles shall be given second priority.

    Educational Qualification for M.Sc (FAD):

    • Candidates must have passed the three-year Bachelor's degree examination of Bengaluru North University or any other University.
    • The subjects shall be considered equivalent to Science/Engineering in Fashion and Apparel Design/Textiles and Clothing/Fashion Designing/Apparel and Fashion Technology/Costume Design and Fashion/Costume & Apparel Design/Textile Technology/Silk Technology.
    • Candidates must have scored not less than 50% marks in aggregate in graduation.

    AIFD UG Selection Process 2021

    B.Sc (FAD) aspirants shall be selected on the basis of their scores obtained in the Computer Based Test (CBT). Applicants with higher marks in the test are given preference over the other candidates.

    AIFD PG Selection Process 2021

    Selection of candidates seeking admission to M.Sc (FAD) course shall be on the basis of their performance in Creative Aptitude Test (CAT).

    Dear student,

    In order to be eligible for admission to the postgraduate courses of design at National Institute of Design (NID), Bangalore, you must have an undergraduate degree in a relevant specialisation of design. Since you do not have a bachelor's degree in design, you are not eligible for admission to the National Institutes of Design (NIDs). You might, however, be able to appear for design entrance exams like NID DAT or UCEED for admission to UG courses of design.
