The AIFD WAT 2025 Merit list was announced on the official website on May 31, 2025, and the last date of acceptance of the offer letter is June 7, 2025. The last date for payment of the fee is June 14, 2025. Classes will commence from July 1, 2025. The last date to apply for the AIFD WAT 2025 exam was April 30, 2025. The AIFD WAT 2025 interview scheduling commenced on January 15, 2025.

AIFD WAT 2025 exam has been discontinued from this year by the Army Institute of Fashion & Design. In 2025, the exam will be conducted as Online Admission Test (OAT). Admission to courses offered will be done on the basis of  Class X and Class XII and online interview by the Board of Officers. The AIFD WAT 2025 application form was released in December 2024. The AIFT 2025 exam schedule has been released on the official website. AIFD WAT is conducted to grant admission to students in BSc Fashion and Apparel Design and BSc Interior Design and Decoration courses.

It is crucial for the candidates appearing for AIFD WAT 2025 to take a look at the significant features. Some of the important highlights relating to the AIFD WAT 2025 exam that a candidate needs to be aware of are mentioned below:

Established in 2004, the Army Institute of Fashion & Design is located in Bangalore. The institute was formed under the guidance of the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) offering specifically design courses. Army Institute of Fashion & Design (AIFD) used to conduct the AIFD WAT exam every year, which was a written admission for admission to design courses. As AIFD WAT application form is now released on the website. Candidates will be required to proceed with the application process by filling a Google form. So, here we are with the steps to fill out the application form:

• Step 1. Registration: The first step is to fill out the application form in online mode on the official website of AIFD. The last date to apply was April 30, 2025.
• Step 2. Pay the Application Fee: Candidates need to pay the application fee of INR 1,000 through online mode to successfully register themselves for the AIFD OAT.

• Step 3. Scheduling of Online Interview: For admission to AIFD, An online interview will be scheduled whose dates will be coordinated mutually between the college and the applicant. However, the final date and slot and link will be generated by the college.

• Step 4. Interview and Follow-up: The interview will be conducted online and it is mandatory for the candidates to read the instructions before appearing for the interview. The admission status of the candidates will be intimated to them via email or phone. Accurate contact details must be provided during registration.

• Step 5. Selection and Fee Payment: If you are selected, you are required to follow the instructions regarding fee payment, document submission, and orientation provided in the admission confirmation email.

It is mandatory for the candidates to keep scanned copies (PDF format) of the following documents ready since they might have to upload them during the interview:

• Class 10th and 12th mark sheets
• Transfer Certificate and Migration Certificate (if applicable)
• Proof of eligibility (Army personnel certificate, if applicable)
• A valid government ID (Aadhaar Card/ Passport/ PAN)
• Recent Passport-sized photograph (in JPEG format).
• Reference detail  

Physical copies of these documents may also be required for verification during the interview.

AIFD WAT 2025 Application Form Correction

As per the official website, there is no application form correction window opened for the candidates applying for AIFD WAT 2025. So, it is advised students keep a check of the details they are filling out in the application form. After double-checking all the details, students must hit the submit button.

AIFD WAT 2025 Exam Fee (Discontinued)

Candidates applying for the AIFD WAT 2025 exam are required to pay an exam fee or application fee to confirm their successful application submission. The exam fee is the same for everyone irrespective of category. Check out the fee below: 

Candidates who are going to appear for AIFD WAT 2025 should be aware of the specified eligibility criteria by the conducting body. 

Criteria for Children of Army Personnel

The first criterion is for the candidates who are children of eligible serving Army personnel, eligible ex-Army personnel, and wards of Army war widows/widows of the Army. Candidates who fall under the below-mentioned categories of Army personnel can apply for admission at AIFD. However, they are required to submit a certificate as specified as proof of eligibility. 

1. Candidates must belong to either of the below categories:

• Children of Army Personnel who have continuously served in the Army for 10 years. 
• It also includes candidates who are children of ex-Army personnel granted/awarded regular pension, family pension, or disability pension during the time of their demise, discharge, superannuation, invalid or release medical board. This also has candidates medically boarded out and granted disability pensions. 

2. Eligibility Criteria in Special Cases:

• Candidates who are wards of ex-Army Medical Corps Officers / Army Dental Corps Officers who are also currently serving with the Indian Navy or Indian Air Force (IN / IAF) are eligible to apply. They must have served for 10 years duration.

3. Adopted / Step Children and Children of Re-married Widows:

• This criteria enables candidates who are born from a marriage where one parent has served in the Army. 
• Children adopted 5 years before seeking admission are eligible to apply at AIFD. 

4. Eligibility Criteria for Children of APS / MNS / TA Personnel

• Candidates who are children of APS personnel on deputation and who have served 10 years in the Army.
• The ones belonging to APS personnel classified as ex-servicemen as per the Govt of India, Ministry of Defence letter are eligible for AIFD WAT. 
• Also, candidates who fulfil both above pointers and have retired without reversion to the P&T department after serving a minimum of 10 years of pensionable years. 
• Children of MNC members who are regular members and have served for 10 years or are in receipt of pension from the Army. 
• Candidates who are children of TA personnel. They must also have completed 10 years of Embodied Service. 
• Children of serving Assam Rifles personnel and both IN & IAF personnel serving and retired. 
• Candidates of civ. based on their NIFT scores or OAT score of AIFD. 

Educational Qualification Criteria 

Candidates must have passed their class 12th examination or equivalent from any stream scoring a minimum of 35% from a recognised board, affiliated with the UGC. Only candidates who have studied in classes 11 and 12 as regular students for two years will be eligible to apply for both courses namely, BSc FAD and BSc IDD. 

Physical Fitness 

Candidates must have acquired a certificate from an MH/RMO/Registered Medical Practitioner stating that they are physically and mentally fit to pursue this course.

• Step 1. Appear for the AIFD WAT Online Interview: The written admission test for AIFD WAT has been discontinued and an online interview will be conducted online for admission at AIFD. 
• Step 2. Check out the AIFD WAT result: The results of the AIFD WAT exam will be released online on the official website. So, candidates who are shortlisted for this exam have to pay the admission fee and secure their admission. 
• Step 3. Wait for the final result: The final list of candidates will be announced on the official website of AIFD.

Before the Interview

• Appear for the interview on a laptop or desktop that has a working camera and microphone and a stable internet connection with sufficient speed to ensure there are no interruptions.
• In case of technical difficulties, keep a backup device (smartphone or tablet) ready.
• If the interview will take place on any platform, e.g., Zoom/Google Meet/MS Teams, you must install the app and test it beforehand.
• Join using the meeting link or ID provided in the email invitation.
• Understand which course you are applying for and be well-equipped to discuss your interests, skills, and career goals.
• Expect questions such as:

(a) What motivated you to pursue a career in fashion?

(b) Are you aware of the syllabus and career opportunities in this field?

(c) Do you aspire to become a Chef or a Front Office Assistant?

(d) How would you describe your communication skills?

(e) What do you know about Hotel Management?

• Dress in formal attire to create a good impression.
• Ensure your interview location is quiet, well-lit, and free from distractions.

The AIFD WAT 2025 written exam has been discontinued but the online interview will be held to analyse the creative approach and design knowledge of students.

The AIFD WAT 2025 result will be announced on the official website. Candidates have to log in on the portal using their login credentials to access the result. If the candidate makes it to the final merit list then they have to pay the prescribed admission amount to secure their seat in the institute.

AIFD WAT 2025 has been discontinued and only the online interview will be taken for admission criteria. AIFD WAT was an institute-level entrance exam conducted by AIFD for selecting students across the design courses including BSc Fashion and Apparel Design & BSc Interior Design and Decoration. So, AIFD WAT scores or results were acceptable at AIFD, no other design colleges accept these scores.

AIFD WAT Counselling 2025 will be held in online mode by the conducting body. The counselling & seat allotment process will take place after the release of the final merit list. In the counselling process, students have to bring along the prescribed documents including migration, transfer, character certificates & matriculation, and XI & XII scorecards. This process comprises document verification, fee payment and seat allocation.

The selection process for the AIFD WAT 2025 will be done based on the performance in all the selection rounds conducted by the authority. Check out the process below:

• Entrance Exam (Discontinued): The first round of selection used to be done based on the written entrance exam. The conducting body released a selection list after this round.
• Interview Round: Candidates selected based on their Class 10 and Class 12 scores will have to further sit for the interview round. 
• Merit Rank: Based on the interview performance, candidates are given a merit rank. 
• Final Selection: For the final selection, the conducting body allots a seat based on the merit rank.
