Here is a tribute to all the teachers who have influenced us throughout our school and college days and have played an important part to shape us into the person we are today!

Teacher's Day is celebrated on September 5 every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of one of India's leading educationalists, philosopher & statesman, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Dr. S. Radhakrishnan was the first Vice-President & second President of free India. An alma mater of Madras Christian College Chennai , he served as an Assistant Professor and later as Professor of Philosophy at Madras Presidency College. He was also the first Indian to the first Indian to hold a professorial chair at the University of Oxford!

Dr. Radhakrishnan has been showered with several accolades including a knighthood in 1931, the Bharat Ratna in 1954 and honorary membership of the British Royal Order of Merit in 1963. He believed that "teachers should be the best minds in the country" and since 1962, his birthday has been celebrated as Teacher's Day in India.

Teachers hold a special place in our hearts and can come in any avatar. S/he could be your mentor and guide from college or your friend and even your parents or family; the whole point is to absorb their guidance and respect the value of thought.

They can come in all shapes and sizes like the ever caring Professor McGonagall (from Harry Potter) or the cold-terrorizing Professor Snape (again from Harry Potter) or the vivacious Miss Chandni (Sushmita Sen - from Main Hoon Na) or the over-achieving & over-expecting Professor 'Virus' (Boman Irani - 3 Idiots) or the outsider dearest Mr. Ram Shankar Nikumbh (Amir Khan - Taare Zameen Par), we consider them all unforgettable.

These super-popular characters were accepted and adored by audiences of all ages not only because they were great actors but, also because they reminded us of our school/college days and at least one of our own teachers.

On this special day, CollegeDekho has assembled some memories that all of us can relate to from some point in our lives in this video!

Don’t forget to share this video and wish them a very HAPPY TEACHERS’ DAY!

Dear Student,

The cutoff ranks for engineering admissions in Andhra Pradesh (AP) colleges in 2025, through AP EAMCET, vary according to college, branch, and category.
