Sikkim University Undergraduate Admission 2022 for all the programs will solely be done through Common University Entrance Test (CUET). The admission process which was earlier conducted through Common Admission Test has now been initiated through CUET. The University Grants Commission mandated all the Central Universities to take admission through CUET in the interest of the students. Sikkim University offers different certificate, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate level programs through CUET. CUET was formerly called Central University Common University Test (CUCET) which has been renamed CUET this year. CUET is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) as established by the government of India. Till last year, there were only seven universities under CUCET which has increased to 45 universities in the current scenario and the number of universities is adding to CUET. 

CUET has lessened the burden on the students completely. This has facilitated students with single window clearance for studying any course in all the central universities of India by giving one common entrance test. Earlier, students had to apply for multiple forms for taking admission to different colleges and universities. The cost of filling out multiple forms was also very high. Also, the examination pattern used to vary for different colleges, and hence students had to prepare for individual examinations accordingly. Sikkim University is a Central University located in Gangtok and offers multiple disciplines. There are seven schools or departments in Sikkim University that further offers multiple courses from certificate to doctorate level courses. It was founded in the year 2006 and approved by UGC under the act of Parliament.

Sikkim University Undergraduate Admission Date 2022

The students willing to take admission through CUET 2022 must keep in mind the important dates as and when released by National Testing Agency.  CUET 2022 admit card for the same will be released soon. The date for undergraduate application is over but postgraduate registration is open till June 18, 2022. Sikkim University Application Process 2022

The students who want to pursue different Undergraduate courses from Sikkim University need to fill the application form for CUET 2022 in an online mode. The form was made available on the official website of the examination conducting body, i.e. NTA CUET 2022. The students must keep in mind the following steps in order to apply online. 

Step 1- Students must visit the official website of the CUET for applying online. 

Step 2- The students need to click on the ‘Apply Online’ tab to register for the undergraduate program for the academic session 2022-23. 

Step 3- On the home page of the website, the students will then be able to see different options for undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The student needs to select the right link for them.

Step 4- The students should complete the registration process by providing the basic details such as the name of the candidate, Email id, date of birth, mobile number, and verification code as reflected on the screen. 

Step 5- After submitting all the basic and required details, the application number and password is generated and the same is sent to the registered mobile number and email id of the students. 

Step 6- The students can then log in with the help of the application number and password and fill the personal and academic qualification details as desired. 

Step 7- The students need to upload the scanned signature and photograph in the prescribed format and must take care of the dimensions and formats as mentioned on the official website. 

Step 8- The students need to select the exam centres of their choice. The students can choose up to 3 exam centres and they usually get their preference of the first chosen centre. 

Step 9- The students then need to enter the details of the university or college where they are looking for admission and the program they are looking for. 

Step 10- The students then need to pay the application fee in either online or offline mode and then submit the application form. When the fee is submitted after submitting the application form, an automated message gets generated and sent to the mobile number and registered email id. The application fee can be paid through debit card, credit card, net banking, and SBI challan. 

Sikkim University Course-Wise Eligibility Criteria for UG Admission 2022

The students must check the eligibility criteria before applying online for different courses offered by Sikkim University. Sikkim University has multiple courses at undergraduate, postgraduate, certificate, and doctorate levels. The lists of undergraduate and certificate courses are mentioned in the eligibility criteria section. The admission process to Sikkim University initiates after the declaration of CUET 2022 results. 

• The first step involved in the admission process to Sikkim University is to fill the admission form for the required course. 
• The admissions to undergraduate courses are done on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination. 
• The students must submit a counselling fee of INR 500 for regular courses if they represent the general category. The fee for SC/ST candidates is INR 250. 
• After the declaration of the result of CUET, Sikkim University will release the merit list for all the courses offered. The merit list will be available on the official website of Sikkim University. 
• All the students whose names appear on the merit list released by Sikkim University are eligible to take admission in their selected course. 
• The students need to pay the course fee in order to confirm their admission to the selected course. They will also attend the counseling session if needed as per the date and timings allotted to them.
