SLAT 2026 PI Round: Who Can Participate, Call Letter Status, Counselling Schedule

The SLAT 2026 PI round is likely to be conducted in all Symbiosis Law Schools from the last week of January 2026 onwards. The Personal Interaction round is the final and most decisive stage in the Symbiosis Law admission process. From SLAT 2025 onwards, the selection process has been simplified, and candidates are now evaluated through only two stages: the SLAT entrance exam and the Personal Interaction round. The Written Ability Test (or WAT) has been officially removed and will not be conducted for SLAT 2026 .

The SLAT exam carries 70% weightage, which is scaled to 70 marks, while the Personal Interaction carries 30% weightage, contributing 30 marks. Together, these make a total of 100 marks, which are used to prepare the final merit list. After the declaration of the SLAT result, shortlisted candidates are now required to appear for the SLAT interaction, which will be conducted online and separately by each Symbiosis Law School.

SLAT 2026 PI Round Dates

After the announcement of the SLAT result, each Symbiosis Law School releases its own schedule for the Personal Interaction round. This includes important dates related to shortlisting, slot booking, call letter download, PI dates, and merit list release.

How to Check SLAT PI Call Letter Status 2026?

After the result, candidates must check whether they have been shortlisted for the Personal Interaction round. The PI shortlist is released separately by each Symbiosis Law School, and only shortlisted candidates can proceed with slot booking and call letter download.

To check the SLAT 2026 PI call letter status, candidates should follow the steps given below:

1. Visit the official SLAT website slat-test.org
2. Log in using your SLAT ID and password
3. Check your PI shortlist status for individual Symbiosis Law Schools (SLS Pune, Hyderabad, Nagpur, or Noida)
4. If shortlisted, proceed to book your Personal Interaction slot within the given dates
5. Complete the document upload process as instructed on the portal
6. After successful slot booking, download the SLAT PI call letter from your dashboard

Who Can Participate in SLAT 2026 Personal Interaction?

Only candidates who have appeared for SLAT 2026 are considered for the Personal Interaction round. The exam must have been taken in CBT mode on either December 20, 2025 or December 28, 2025.

After the SLAT result is declared on January 15, 2026, each Symbiosis Law School prepares its own shortlist independently. Institutes such as SLS Pune, SLS Hyderabad, SLS Nagpur, and SLS Noida consider SLAT scores along with seat availability while preparing their PI shortlists. A candidate is eligible to appear for the SLAT 2026 PI only if their name appears in the official PI shortlist released by that specific institute.

Shortlisted candidates must then book their PI slot online within the given time window, which is usually open for only a few days. They are also required to upload scanned copies of the necessary documents, such as the Class 12 marksheet, category certificate, and valid ID proof, within the prescribed dates.

What After SLAT PI Round 2026?

After the completion of the SLAT 2026 PI Round, each Symbiosis Law School will prepare a final merit list by combining the candidate’s SLAT score and PI score. The SLAT score contributes 70 marks, while the Personal Interaction contributes 30 marks, making a total of 100 marks.

Based on this combined score, institutes release their First Merit List, followed by the Second and Third Merit Lists, if required. These merit lists are published on the official websites of the respective Symbiosis Law Schools.

Candidates whose names appear in a merit list must complete the admission formalities within the given deadline. This includes payment of the first installment of academic fees and submission of original documents for verification. Candidates who do not make it to the first merit list may still be offered admission in later lists, depending on seat availability and waiting list movement.

Once the fee is paid and the documents are verified, the admission is confirmed. Students are then required to report to the institute when classes commence, which is generally scheduled for the first week of July 2026.
