SLAT Exam Day Instructions

SLAT or Symbiosis Law Admission Test is an annual exam held to streamline admission into the law programs across all four SLS law schools: SLS Pune, SLS Nagpur, SLS Hyderabad, and SLS Noida. For the upcoming SLAT 2024, scheduled in May 2024 and adopting an online center-based format, Symbiosis International University, the overseeing body, has provided thorough guidelines. Candidates are required to adhere to these guidelines on the exam day, and you can access all the detailed procedures and instructions for SLAT 2024 on this page.

Requirements to Appear for the SLAT 2024 Online Centre-Based Exam

Candidates need to ensure that they follow the requirements listed below to appear for the exam

  • Internet-Based Assessments (IBA) have to be taken by candidates through IBA launchers. It is recommended to use a PC or a Laptop.
  • A desktop/ laptop with a webcam and a mouse for better navigation
  • Internet connection (5 Mbps uninterrupted internet speed is desirable)
  • The candidates must also have an active data pack on their mobile in case there is any interruption in the broadband or WiFi
  • Operating System: Windows 7, 10, and Ubuntu LINUX (14.1 and 16) version
  • You cannot use iOS OS and iOS/ Android
  • The zoom level of the browser is to be at 100%.
  • The browser should be Google Chrome latest Version 83.0
  • Windows 7: All versions of Chrome and Internet Explorer will be supported. Firefox versions 46 – 56 are supported
  • Windows 10: All versions of Chrome and Internet Explorer will be supported. Firefox not supported
  • Ubuntu 14.1 and 16: All versions of Chrome, Internet Explorer and Firefox are supported
  • Integrated Webcam or USB Connected Webcam is mandatory
  • Antivirus and Firewall to be uninstalled/ disabled during the exam
  • Internet connectivity must be open without any domain restrictions
  • The computer must not be connected to any organization domain as that can restrict URL access
  • The keyboard to be in good working condition for answering WAT-related questions
  • Uninterrupted electrical power supply
  • Uninterrupted power supply in case of Desktop PC.
  • The laptop to be connected to the charger so that it does not run out of battery during the exam

How to Appear for the SLAT 2024 Online Centre-Based Exam 

To appear for SLAT 2024, candidates need to follow the steps given below:

  • Access the link provided in the email on a browser of your choice (Chrome is recommended) 
  • Wait for the login screen
  • Enter the username and password sent to your registered email 
  • Click on Login
  • 3 tabs will be visible 
  • Application Summary (with basic information)
  • Online Assessment (with access to the assessment you need to appear for)
  • Helpdesk
  • Click on the Online Assessment tab
  • Select Current tab
  • Click on Launch 
  • Enable Pop-ups if prompted
  • Self-Registration and candidate consent screen will appear 
  • On the top of the screen, a dropdown to select the camera will appear
  • Click on the drop-down and select the camera you want to use
  • Allow the browser to use the device camera to capture your video/ photo
  • Check your picture visible on the photo window
  • In case, you see a red border around any image, click on that and capture your photo once again
  • Go through the 'Undertaking' content 
  • Select the checkbox and provide consent
  • The page to upload the document to be captured as an ID proof will appear next 
  • If “Live Capture”, select the camera from the drop-down and click on “Live Capture” or browse & upload the document
  • Display the ID proof on the screen
  • Click on Save to capture the ID
  • You need to upload a clear copy of the ID. It has to be approved by the Proctor and only then you can begin the exam. In case, the proctor is unable to read the ID, it will be rejected and then you have to launch the assessment again and complete the Self-registration process again

SLAT 2024 Exam Day Instructions for Online Centre-Based Exam 

Candidates taking SLAT 2024 must adhere to the following instructions:

1. Sit facing the screen and webcam of the laptop/desktop during the exam.

2. Ensure proper lighting for clear face capture.

3. Follow a formal or smart casual dress code.

4. No other person should be present in the room during the exam.

5. Comply with all specified IT requirements.

6. Keep the mobile phone with the registered primary number for communication; no other electronic devices are allowed.

7. Do not open any other application window during the exam; it will be considered a violation.

8. Bio breaks are not permitted during the exam.

9. Remain seated during the exam as images and videos are recorded and supervised in near real-time.

10. Calculators are not permitted; use plain paper and a pencil for rough work.

11. Talking or speaking during the exam is prohibited.

12. Disturbing the camera position will result in the test being auto-submitted and inaccessible afterward.

13. Use the same desktop/laptop for all tests.

14. Any attempt at malpractice will result in disqualification from the admission process for all UG programs at Symbiosis International University and may lead to legal action.

To secure admission to the B.A LLB programme at Swami Vivekananda Law College, you must have passed 10+2 with at least 45% marks (SC/ ST category candidates - 40%). The programme is 5 years long and divided into 10 semesters. It has an intake of 120 students. The programme is affiliated to CCS University, Meerut and approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI).
