SLAT 2021 Online Remote Proctored Exam - Instructions, Guidelines, Requirements, Process

SLAT 2021 will be conducted from July 10-13 in online remote proctored mode. This means that the candidates can appear for the exam from the safe and secure environment of their home using a desktop/ laptop with a webcam. Symbiosis International University, which conducts SLAT has come up with a set of detailed guidelines, which the candidates need to adhere to on the exam day. For the online remote proctored exam, SLAT 2021 exam pattern has also been revised and the number of questions has been brought down to 60 from the existing 75. Requirements to Appear for SLAT 2021 Online Remote Proctored Exam

Candidates need to ensure that they follow the requirements listed below to appear for the exam

  • Internet-Based Assessments (IBA) have to be taken by candidates through IBA launchers. It is recommended to use a PC or a Laptop.
  • A desktop/ laptop with a webcam and a mouse for better navigation
  • Internet connection (5 Mbps uninterrupted internet speed is desirable)
  • The candidates must also have an active data pack on their mobile in case there is any interruption in the broadband or WiFi
  • Operating System: Windows 7, 10, and Ubuntu LINUX (14.1 and 16) version
  • iOS OS and iOS/Android are not supported
  • The zoom level of the browser to be at 100%.
  • The browser should be Google chrome latest Version 83.0
  • Windows 7: All versions of Chrome and Internet Explorer will be supported. Firefox version 46 – 56 are supported
  • Windows 10: All versions of Chrome and Internet Explorer will be supported. Firefox not supported
  • Ubuntu 14.1 and 16: All versions of Chrome, Internet Explorer and Firefox are supported
  • Integrated Webcam or USB Connected Webcam is mandatory
  • Antivirus and Firewall to be uninstalled/ disabled during the exam
  • Internet connectivity must be open without any domain restrictions
  • The computer must not be connected to any organisation domain as that can restrict URL access
  • Keyboard to be in good working condition for answering WAT related questions
  • Uninterrupted electrical power supply
  • Uninterrupted power supply in case of Desktop PC.
  • Laptop to be connected to the charger so that it does not run out of the battery during the exam

How to Appear for SLAT 2021 Online Remote Proctored Exam 

In order to appear for SLAT 2021, candidates need to follow the steps given below 

  • Access the link provided on the email on a browser of your choice (Chrome recommended) 

  • Wait for the login screen

  • Enter the username and password sent on your registered email 

  • Click on Login

  • 3 tabs will be visible 

  • Application Summary (with basic information)

  • Online Assessment (with access to the assessment you need to appear for)

  • Helpdesk

  • Click on the Online Assessment tab

  • Select Current tab

  • Click on Launch 

  • Enable Pop-ups if prompted

  • Self-Registration and candidate consent screen will appear 

  • On the top of the screen, a dropdown to select the camera will appear

  • Click on the drop-down and select the camera you want to use

  • Allow the browser to use the device camera to capture your video/ photo

  • Check your picture visible on the photo window

  • In case, you see a red border around any image, click on that and capture your photo once again

  • Go through the 'Undertaking' content 

  • Select the checkbox and provide consent

  • The page to upload the document to be captured as an ID proof will appear next 

  • If “Live Capture”, select the camera from the drop-down and click on “Live Capture” or browse & upload the document

  • Display the ID proof on the screen

  • Click on Save to capture the ID

  • You need to upload a clear copy of the ID. It has to be approved by the Proctor and only then you can begin the exam. In case, the proctor is unable to read the ID, it will be rejected and then you have to launch the assessment again and complete the Self-registration process again

SLAT 2021 Exam Day Instructions for Online Remote Proctored Exam 

Candidates appearing for SLAT 2021 must follow the instructions given below

  • Candidates should be seated in front of the laptop/ desktop, facing the screen and webcam during the exam

  • The seating arrangement should be such that there is enough light to capture the candidate's face clearly

  • The dress code is formals or smart casuals 

  • Nobody else should be present in the room while the candidate is attempting the exam

  • All the IT requirements as stated above have to be adhered to 

  • A mobile phone with the primary number that was given at the time of registration should be there with the candidate as that will be used to communicate with the candidate if needed. No other electronic device will be allowed

  • No other application window can be opened during the exam and in case that happens, it will be treated as a violation 

  • No bio breaks are allowed during the exam

  • Candidates must ensure that the images and videos will be recorded and supervised in near real time by a Human Proctor as well as AI. So, it is recommended to not leave the seat during the exam. Such behaviour will be considered as a violation

  • Calculators are not allowed 

  • A plain paper and pencil will be allowed for rough work 

  • Talking or speaking during the exam is not allowed 

  • If the candidate disturbs the camera position, the test will be auto-submitted and will not be accessible to the candidate after that 

  • Candidates need to ensure they are using the same desktop/ laptop for all the tests

  • Any attempt to indulge in any malpractice would lead to disqualification from the admission process of all the UG programmes at Symbiosis International University. Can also lead to appropriate legal action

Yes, you can apply for LLB admission at Indraprastha Law College (ILC), Greater Noida without appearing for CLAT. The institute does not require a CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) score in order to shortlist candidates for its Bachelor of Law (LL.B) programme.
