How are WBJEE Ranks Calculated?

The ranks in WBJEE are calculated by arranging the scores secured in WBJEE in the merit order. Then, based on the sections in the WBJEE exam followed by the marks secured, the authority prepares two separate merit lists, ie, GMR & PMR. Read about them below:-

General Merit Rank : Abbreviated as GMR, it is calculated by taking the total score secured in both papers I & II of the exam. The rank, in this case, shall be allotted to the student in a descending order of the total marks secured in all the subjects. If there is a tie, then the tiebreaker rule will apply.
Pharmacy Merit Rank: Also known as PMR, it will be prepared based on the scores scored in paper 2. In this case, the WBJEE ranks will be allotted to you in a descending order based on the marks obtained in the 2nd paper. If there is a tie, the tie-breaker rules will be applicable.

If you're considering B.Tech CSE, LPU is a good option. The tuition fees is aroung 2.8 lakh per year, and the hostel chrges starts from 83,000 per year depending on the room type. The university also offers scholarships through LPUNEST, JEE Mian ,CUET and other criteria, which can help reduce the overall cost.

I am not taking JEE Main this year. Do I need to take LPUNEST for BTech CSE at LPU?

Yes, if you are not taking JEE Main, then you should appear for LPUNEST for admission in B.Tech CSE at LPU. LPUNEST is the entrance exam of LPU for Admission eligibility and for scholarship benefits. However, in some cases, students also get admission through 12th merit-based, but LPUNEST is still recommended because it helps in both admission preference and scholarship selection. Overall, if you are not giving JEE MAINS, LPUNEST is a suitable and safest option for B.Tech CSE at LPU
