Since your daughter is completing her 1st year diploma in IT, she can certainly join Government Polytechnic, Kolhapur with Direct Second Year admission through lateral entry after completion. Direct 2nd year admission is possible through the Central Admission Process (CAP) under the state guidelines of Maharashtra State CET Cell. She must meet the eligibility criteria to be able to secure a seat there. Direct Second Year of Post SSC admission criteria require students to have completed 10+2 from a recognized board of school education with Physics / Mathematics / Chemistry / Computer Science / Electronics / Information Technology / Biology / Informatics Practices/ Biotechnology / Technical Vocational subject / Agriculture / Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies / Entrepreneurship. Furthermore, students with 10th and 2 years ITI in any engineering stream are also eligible for direct 2nd year polytechnic admission. It is also important to note that admissions are granted based on merit and availability of seats in respective colleges.
