IIT Bombay Undergraduate Programmes Eligibility Criteria 2026

IIT Bombay admission to the undergraduate courses is highly competitive and primarily through national-level entrance exams. The courses include BTech, B.S., BTech + MTech, and BDes. Candidates must have completed Class XII or the equivalent from a recognised board.

  • IIT Bombay eligibility criteria for BTech require the candidates to have a minimum of 75% in 10+2, along with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics being the compulsory subjects.
  • BDes eligibility criteria at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay require the candidates to pass all 5 subjects in 10+2 in 2025 or 2026. Unlike BTech, students of every stream, namely science, commerce, arts & humanities, can apply to the IIT Bombay BDes.

General Requirements for All UG Programmes:

  • All the candidates should be Indian nationals or eligible foreign nationals.
  • Maximum of 2 attempts for the entrance exam in consecutive years. This is applicable to both UCEED and JEE Advanced.
  • The candidates applying to any of the UG programmes must not be older than 25 years of age if they belong to the general, OBC and EWS categories. For other categories, there is a 5-year relaxation period.

  • The eligibility criteria of the IIT Bombay MDes require the candidates to have at least 60% marks in graduation, irrespective of discipline. The candidates must have CEED 2026 scores for admission.
