NIT Meghalaya admission process for BTech involves candidates to qualify the JEE Main exam and registering for the JoSAA counselling process. JoSAA 2024 registration process starts from June 10, 2024 onwards. 

NIT Meghalaya offers 5 courses in the B.Tech program, 5 specialization courses in M.Tech, MSc. in 3 streams, and a PhD program in Engineering, Science, and Humanities. It has maintained good relationships with society, NGOs, and governments to work for the betterment of the region, state, and nation. For each course, there is a separate eligibility criterion for admission apart from that the student who desires admission has to write the required entrance test and pass the NIT Meghalaya cutoff. How to get Admission to various courses National Institute of Technology Shillong 2023?

Admission to various courses at the National Institute of Technology, Shillong, is based on an entrance test relevant to the course applied or selected by the candidate. The exam accepted for the B.Tech course is JEE Main, followed by JoSAA counselling. The exam accepted for M.Tech is GATE, followed by CCMT counselling. The exam accepted for MSc. course is GATE, followed by CCMN counselling. Shortlisting candidates for a PhD is done based on the candidate's performance in written tests and interviews. The final admission is granted to students only after fee payment and document verification.

NIT Meghalaya Application Process 2023

Candidates applying for courses at the National Institute of Technology Shillong must submit the application form online. Candidates should also fill out the application form for the entrance exams like JEE Main or GATE before appearing for the examination. 

The steps involved in the application process are illustrated below: 

  • Visit the official website of the National Institute of Technology Shillong. 
  • Click on the selected course of study. 
  • Make the payment of application fees and proceed with filling out the application form. The payment can be made online through SBI Collect or HDFC. 
  • The application fee payment details must be incorporated in the application form before submission. 
  • Filled in the application form along with payment proof and relevant documents must be submitted to Asst. Registrar (Acad), NIT, Meghalaya, Bijni Complex, Laitumkhrah, Shillong-793003.
  • The list of documents to be submitted along with the application form includes:

  • Regarding the application process for B.Tech admissions at NIT Meghalaya, candidates have to visit the official website of JEE Main.
  • Candidates will then have to fill in the required details and submit them after completing all the forms.

NIT Meghalaya B.Tech Eligibility Criteria 2023

  • Candidates must have passed 12th class board exams from any recognized board to be eligible for B.Tech admissions at NIT Meghalaya. 
  • Candidate must have scored at least 75% marks in 12th board exams.
  • The marks should be the aggregate of five subjects. 
  • The subjects must include Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects.

NIT Meghalaya M.Tech/ M.Sc Admissions 2023

  • To apply for M.Tech/M.Sc admissions, candidates need to visit the official website of NIT Meghalaya.
  • Candidates may then proceed to the admission tab and proceed for the application form filling.
  • After filling all the required details, applicants may proceed to fee submission.
  • Application fees are Rs. 500/- for General/OBC and Rs. 250 for SC/ST. The application fee can be submitted online.
  • Candidates who are submitting the fee offline need to send a DD to the college.
  • Finally, after fee submission, candidates may collect the payment slip and registration number which will be used while downloading the admit card.

NIT Meghalaya M.Tech Eligibility Criteria 2023

  • To be eligible for M.Tech admissions at NIT Meghalaya, candidates should have done graduation in either B.Tech or B.E. in any relevant subject. 
  • Candidates must have scored a minimum of 60% marks or 6.5 CPGA at graduation level.
  • In order to get admission in M.Tech courses offered by NIT Meghalaya, candidates need to qualify Graduate Aptitude Test Engineering (GATE).
  • Admission to these courses depends upon the GATE ranks of the candidates.
