The placement drive for PGDM (GM), XLRI's 15 months MBA programme, for the class graduating May 2015, was completed on a winning note. The batch comprised a total of 119 students, of which 14 were not seeking employment, either being on sabbatical or being company sponsored. A healthy mix of core and service sector firms augmented by an active interest from startups gave rise to a dynamic placement process. The experience range of the batch was between 5 years to 10.5 years. The mean work experience of the batch was pegged at 6.5 years which clearly indicated the industry trend of welcoming experienced professionals who were enhanced by management theory. The engagement process with the recruiting partners saw majority of previous recruiters extending recruitment year on year, along with new recruiters showing interest in our program.
With the economy on an upward trend, the response from the industry was overwhelming, with the likes of JPMC, ZS Associates, Microsoft, Genpact, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Car Dekho taking part in the recruitment process. The rolling placements started in November 2014. Multiple roles were offered depending on seniority and ultimately all candidates successfully returned to industry with enhanced profiles.
The roles offered to the class of 2015 included Associate VP, Business Analyst, Consultant, Deputy General Manager, Senior Manager, Director, Vice President. The roles were offered for functions such as IT/ITES, Strategy, Manufacturing, Banking, Consulting, Operations, Marketing, Sales/Business development, Supply Chain, Quality assurance, and Analytics space.
