The good news is that the Government of Andhra Pradesh has announced in a press meet on February 22, 2016, that "from 2016 B.E and B.Tech students are eligible to appear AP EDCET - 2016 which will enable them to secure admission in B.Ed colleges.
Shri. Kumara Swami, Convenor - EDCET said that the duration of the course will be 2 years and each year will be have 2 semesters. There are 369 B.Ed colleges in Andhra Pradesh which consist of a total number of 36,000 seats. Whereas in 2015, only 25000 seats were filled.
The Andhra Pradesh Government is also planning to give permission for 40 more B.Ed colleges in 2016 as B.E and B.Tech students are now eligible for the test which is to be conducted in the month of May.
The syllabus for the entrance test will be 2013 - 2016 UG syllabus. The exam will be conducted in 18 centres of Andhra Pradesh. The major centers in Krishna District are;
- Vijayawada - 3 Centers
- Machalipatnam - 2 Centers
