CUET exam day guidelines 2026 are extremely important as they help students avoid unexpected mistakes that may lead to disqualification. NTA will hold the CUET 2026 exam in CBT mode. Students should follow the CUET exam day guidelines carefully, as missing any of them could affect their chances of taking the exam. CUET exam day guidelines are released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) along with the admit card. Along with a list of prohibited items, the admit card includes information about the exam location, schedule, and dos and don'ts.
Some of the CUET 2026 exam day guidelines state that you should arrive at the exam location early to avoid being delayed by mandatory checking and frisking during the exam. To avoid problems on exam day, you should confirm the location of your exam centre at least one day ahead of time. In the end, even if you complete your paper early, you should wait for instructions from the invigilator before leaving.

Dress Code:

To take the exam, you must dress appropriately for CUET exam. Refer below to know CUET 2026 exam day dress guidelines prescribed by NTA.
  • Light clothes with long sleeves are not permitted.

  • If you arrive at the examination centre dressed in cultural/customary attire, you should report at least an hour before the last reporting time to allow for proper frisking without causing any inconvenience and to maintain the sanctity of the examination.

  • Sandals with low heels and slippers are acceptable. You are not allowed to wear shoes.

Before the Exam:

Listed below are some of the important CUET exam day guidelines 2026 & instructions before the exam:

  • You should not overeat or undereat due to stress before the exam day.

  • Don't compromise on your sleep. Make sure to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep the night before the exam to help calm your mind.

  • Before leaving home for the exam, go through all the relevant documents required for the exam day. Ensure you carry essential documents like your admit card and valid ID proof, or you won’t be allowed to sit for the exam.

  • You must paste a recently clicked passport-sized photograph on your CUET admit card before leaving for the exam.

  • Aim to reach the exam centre at least 1-2 hours before the reporting time to avoid any last-minute rush. Remember, you won’t be allowed to enter the exam venue 30 minutes before the exam starts.

  • Dress appropriately, keeping both comfort and the exam in mind, especially considering the hot weather.

During the Exam:

Provided below are a few of the important CUET exam day guidelines 2026 that Applicants must follow during the exam:

  • You should find and take your seat immediately after the exam doors open.

  • Make sure that the Question Paper displayed on your computer screen matches the subject you chose, as indicated on your Admit Card. If it’s different, bring it to the attention of the invigilator immediately.

  • If you need first aid, technical assistance, or any other information during the exam, feel free to approach the Centre Superintendent or Invigilator present in the room.

  • You should not use unfair means during the exam, as it could lead to direct disqualification from the test.

  • All writing work and calculations should be done only on the rough sheets provided at the exam centre. Once the exam is over, you must hand over your rough sheets to the invigilator on duty.

After the Exam:

Given below are a few of the important CUET exam day guidelines 2026 that Applicants have to follow after the exam ends:

  • You are not allowed to leave the room until the exam time is over.

  • You are required to leave the exam room in an orderly manner.

  • It is important to follow social distancing before, during, and after the exam.

  • PwBD students will be given compensatory time of 15 minutes for a 45-minute exam and 20 minutes for a one-hour exam.

  • NTA will not conduct a re-test for applicants who are unable to attend the entrance test.

Things to Carry to CUET 2026 Exam Centre

Below is a list of things and documents that students would be allowed to carry on the day of CUET 2026 exam that is important for CUET exam day instructions and guidelines. Applicants are advised to go through the list thoroughly and prepare themselves accordingly:

  • Carry printed copies (preferably two) of your Admit Card along with a duly filled-in Self Declaration (Undertaking) form, available on the NTA Website.

  • You must have one valid, original, and non-expired photo ID, such as a School Identity Card, PAN card, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport, Aadhaar Card with photograph, E-Aadhaar with photograph, Ration Card with photograph, or Class XII ID.

  • Only a recently clicked passport-size photograph (same as the one uploaded in the CUET Application Form) will be allowed.

  • You will need to paste the photograph on the attendance sheet at the exam centre.

  • Carry your Board Admit Card with a photograph or a Bank Passbook with a photograph.

  • If claiming relaxation under the PWD category, bring the original PWD certificate issued by an authorized medical officer.

  • You are allowed to bring a transparent water bottle and a Black ballpoint pen to the exam hall.

Things Not to Carry to CUET 2026 Exam Centre

Anything not mentioned in CUET exam day guidelines 2026 mentioned in the article above is prohibited in the exam hall. Make sure to leave the following items outside the exam centre:

  • Any kind of gadgets/electronic devices

  • Books or study material of any type

  • Geometry box/pencil-box/pouch/scale

  • Wallets or handbags

  • Goggles or sunglasses

  • Printed, handwritten, blank, or any white paper, writing pad, or piece of paper

  • Jewellery such as earrings, rings, bracelets, pendants, nose pins, charms, chains/necklaces, brooches, hair bands, badges, hair pins, clothes with full sleeves or big buttons

  • Closed sandals/shoes

Students should note that if they are found in possession of any of the aforementioned objects, their candidature will be cancelled by the authorities. CUET 2026 result will also not be declared for such students.
