KVPY 2019 result has been declared. KVPY is a programme initiated by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India in 1999. The course is designed to encourage students with science stream to pursue a career in research. This article has all the information regarding KVPY admissions.

KVPY Admissions

KVPY programme is run by the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. The overall responsibility of the programme is in the hands of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The successful implementation of the programme is seen by the Management Committee and a National Advisory Committee (NAC). A core committee is set up to ensure that the organisation maintains the standards of academics as well as other aspects on a daily basis.

Every year, Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) conducts the examination at various centres to enrol the students for the KVPY programme. The examination is conducted to select the deserving candidate from across the countries for the programme. This article includes all the details regarding KVPY admissions 2019.

KVPY Result 2019

KVPY 2019 result has been declared. The KVPY 2019 result has been published by IISc Bangalore in the form of merit list. In addition to the merit list, the cutoff scores for each stream have also been released. SA stream is for students pursuing Science and currently in class 11th, SX stream is for students pursuing Science and currently in class 12th and SB stream is for students pursuing a programme in Basic Science and are in the first year of graduation. KVPY Answer Key 2019

KVPY Eligibility Criteria 2019

Given below is the KVPY eligibility criteria 2019 that you can refer to. Students enrolled in Standard XI in Science Stream can appear for the aptitude test provided they meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Must have scored at least 75% marks in Mathematics and Science in Standard X

  • Students willing to take Science in the undergraduate course can only enrol for admission

  • Students must secure at least 60% in aggregate in Science in Standard XII

  • The student must be willing to join the one-year interim programme offered at National Science (Vijyoshi) Camp. The travel and local hospitality expenses are met by KVPY

Students enrolled in Standard XII in Science Stream can appear for the aptitude test provided they meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Students willing to take Science in the undergraduate course are only enrolled for admission

  • Must have scored at least 75% marks in Mathematics and Science in Standard X

  • Must secure at least 60% in aggregate in Science in Standard XII

Students enrolled in the First year of undergraduate studies with Science Stream can appear for the aptitude test provided they meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Must have scored at least 60% marks in Mathematics and Science in Standard XII

  • Must have scored at least 60% marks in the first year of undergraduate studies

KVPY Application Process 2019

All applications at KVPY are accepted in the online mode. Students must follow the steps given below to complete the application procedure:

  • Visit the official website and complete the registration and application login process
  • Complete the online application form. Fill in the personal and academic details, upload passport size photograph, choose the centre for test, add a signature and upload the documents as per the requirement
  • Pay application fees. The application fees for KVPY is 1000/- for general category and 500/- for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates.

Students who meet the minimum eligibility criteria and submit the application form must take the aptitude test on the prescribed date. The test is conducted at various centres across the country. The candidates are then called for the interview based on the performance in the aptitude test. The shortlisted candidates must appear for the interview.

The question- paper is divided into 2 parts Part I and Part II. Each part contains four sections under the SA and SB/ SX stream. All questions are compulsory in SA stream. There is an option to attempt only three sections in Part I of SB/ SX stream and two sections in Part II of SB/ SX stream.

KVPY Syllabus 2019

The aptitude test for KVPY is designed to test the analytical skills of students. There is no specific syllabus defined for KVPY test. The test covers the topics from class X, Class XII and 1st year of B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./M.S.

KVPY Admit Card 2019

Candidates can download the admit card by logging on to the application portal of KVPY. The examination centre, test date and seat number will be confirmed in the admit card. KVPY is a good initiative for students who want to pursue a career in research.
