JoSAA Choice Filling 2024: The Joint Seat Allocation Authority will commence the JoSAA counselling process from June 10, 2024 at josaa.nic.in. Candidates who have qualified JEE Main 2024 or JEE Advanced 2024 exam are eligible to participate in the JoSAA 2024 counselling process. Candidates who have passed JEE Main 2024 will need to register using their JEE Main 2024 registration number and password. Similarly, Candidates who have passed JEE Advanced 2024 must enter their JEE main 2024 registration number and JEE Advanced 2024 password to register for JoSAA counselling 2024.  

Candidates must fill out their preferences of the institutes and courses they wish to enrol in after completing the JoSAA 2024 registration process. Only those candidates who register and fill out their choices for the JoSAA 2024 within the stipulated time period will be given consideration for a seat. A centralized JoSAA 2024 counselling process will be used to allocate seats based on JEE Main/JEE Advanced rankings as of 2024.

What is JoSAA 2024?

JoSAA, also known as Joint Seat Allocation Authority, is set up by the Education Ministry in order to manage the admission to 114 tertiary institutes approved by the Government of India. Through the JoSAA Counselling process, the eligible candidates will be provided admission to various IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other government-based technical colleges. After the registration, the registered students will be eligible for JoSAA choice filling 2023.

JoSAA Seat Allotment 2024

JoSAA is conducting a centralized counselling process through which the seats will be allocated to the candidates. The JoSAA Seat Allotment 2024 will be done on the basis of rank obtained by the candidates in JEE Main/ Advanced along with their preference of choice filled. 

After the seat is allotted to the candidates, they will have the option to either freeze, float, slide or withdraw their allotted seats. See the below table to understand how these options work:

• Candidates must fill all the choices in the decreasing order of their preferences

Important Notice for Physical Verification Process and Date Ranges for PwD Candidates in JoSAA 2024

Previous year the PwD candidates were allowed a longer time duration along with the choice for selection of the institute where they would like to report for physical verification of their PwD status. The same is expected for the current year.

JoSAA Counselling 2024

The JoSSA 2024 counselling will begin on June 10, 2024. The selection of candidates for seats through JoSAA will be based on their qualifications as well as their preferences for institutions and courses. Seats will be assigned to candidates throughout seven rounds of the JoSAA counselling process in 2024. The JoSAA 2024 counselling will be held in 6 rounds for which separate seat allotment results will be released. The JoSAA 2024 counselling will be conducted for admission to the best NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. However, when there are open seats, super-round counselling is carried out by the CSAB. The JoSAA 2024 seat allotment results are released in the form of opening and closing ranks for BTech in India and are made public course-by-course and category-by-category following each round of JoSAA Counselling 2024.

JoSAA Participating Colleges 2024

In total there are about 114 participating institutes of JoSAA 2024 which allocate the seats for admissions into the various engineering courses provided in the Institutes through JEE Main and JEE Advanced scores.
