Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies do not provide admission based on Management Quota. The admission process for the MBA programme is completely based on merit score of the candidates appearing for the NMAT by GMAC. 


 
NMIMS Management Quota Admission

The admission process for undergraduate and postgraduate courses at Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies is completely merit based. There is strictly no management quota admission for MBA programme at NMIMS. For MBA admission you are required to successfully clear the NMAT exam by GMAC. The final admission at Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies is based on entrance exam score, personal interview and the score in the subsequent rounds, relevant academic performance in the class 12 level and graduation level and work experience of more than 6 months for certain disciplines. To take admission at NMIMS you must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks for general category admission and 45% for reserved category students. Is There a Management Quota at NMIMS?

No, there is no Management Quota Admission at NMIMS. Usually the admission process through management quota is a provision for those students who despite having a strong academic background could not clear the entrance exam or the respective cutoff for admission. In most educational institutions the management quota seats are limited in number therefore the admission process is strictly specified and governed through institutional norms.

Final Year Students

Those appearing in their final year of graduation are eligible to apply, provided they clear all exams and achieve the 50% aggregate before enrolment.

Educational Requirements

A candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in all subjects they appeared for

Work Experience

Not mandatory, but two or more years of post-qualification industry experience is preferred for core MBA

Programme Specific

MBA Core / MBA HR

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks in aggregate
  • Work experience preferred.

MBA Business Analytics

  • Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Commerce, Economics, Management Studies, or Computer Science.
  • Mathematics or Statistics must have been a compulsory subject at graduation.
  • Minimum aggregate is 50%
  • Work experience preferred

MBA Digital Transformation

  • Degree in Engineering (any stream), MCA, B.Sc. (IT/Computer Science/Electronics/Physics/Maths), or any graduate program with Mathematics as a compulsory subject.
  • Minimum aggregate is 50%

MBA Pharmaceutical Management

  • Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm / M.Pharm), BDS, BHMS, BAMS, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, MBBS, Microbiology, or related fields.
  • Minimum aggregate is 50%
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector may be considered.

Entrance Exam

  • A valid score in NMAT by GMAC is mandatory for all MBA applicants.
  • Only the first attempt of NMAT is considered retakes are typically not accepted.

Steps

Detailed Admission Process

NMAT by GMAC Entrance Exam

  • Candidates must appear for the NMAT by GMAC exam. However, NMIMS only considers your first attempt score, even if you take it multiple times
  • The overall cut-off for all campuses in 2025 has been set at 209, though past cut-offs varied between 205–225 across different campuses and programs

Registration & Application

  • After NMAT, register on the NMIMS portal using your GMAC ID. Pay the application fee
  • Prepare and upload the following documents like Class X and XII certificates, Bachelor's degree mark sheets and certificate, Work experience certificate, Migration certificate

Shortlisting & Selection Rounds

  • Based on NMAT performance, NMIMS shortlists candidates for further rounds
  • Selection is done based on Competency Assessment, Personal Interview (PI), NMIMS Aptitude Test
  • Students can take note that the Competency Assessment and PI sessions are held in four daily slots

Merit List & Fee Payment

For MBA admissions (NMAT-based) in 2025, the merit list was published on March 15, 2025, determining candidate statuses such as Selected, Waitlisted, or Rejected.
