Osmania University PG entrance exam which is known as CPGET is a Computer Based Test (CBT). The CPGET 2022 will be conducted for all the subjects offered under postgraduate studies. Check the Highlights of CPGET test mentioned in the following table:

Candidates are selected for the Osmania University PG courses through  CPGET entrance test  followed by a counselling Process. The university opens web-based counselling which allows candidates to select courses and institutes according to their preference. The final decision related to admission is confirmed after the verification of the required documents. The university reserved the right to make decisions related to admission based on the availability of seats at respective institutes at the time of admission. Osmania University PG Admission Eligibility Criteria 2022

Check the general eligibility criteria to take admission in PG courses offered at Osmania University:

• The candidate must have passed the minimum qualification examination.

• The minimum % required in previous years of study is 40%

• The candidate must qualify for the PG entrance examination for the concenred subjects. 

• The candidate must present all the required documents at the time of counselling.

• Candidates who hold a degree other than B.A./B.Sc./ B.Com must demonstrate equivalent eligibility before appearing for the PG entrance Examination.

• Candidates need to pass BSc in Botany, Zoology and Chemistry. SC/ST candidates require to have pass marks in the previous qualifying exam to be eligible for the Osmania University PG admission entrance test.

How to Apply for Osmania University PG Admission

Step 1: Registration and Fee payment

Candidates require to visit the official website of the university to make online registration. By submitting the required fees, they can be able to register. To complete the registration process, they must enter the primary details including number of tests to be taken and registration fee details. The registration fees can be paid only by using the credit card/debit card/net banking options. On the completion of the registration, candidates will receive a registration ID which they need to store for future login.

Step 2: Fill in the Online Application Form

Candidates need to fill in the online application form of CPGET entrance exam by login to their registered account. To do that, they must enter their registration ID, DOB and registered mobile no. Candidates must carefully go through the application form and the Demo Application form before filling in the application form.

Step 3: View and Verify

Make sure all the entries done are correct. Check the details entered and correct if errors are made.

Step 4: Upload Photograph and Signature

Scanned copy of the latest passport size photograph and candidates’ signatures must be uploaded in this step. Ensure the signature is correct.

Step 5: Take Print Out of Application Form

 Candidates must also take a printout of the Application Form for future reference.

Step 6: Download Hall-Ticket

The Hall ticket will be released on the official website at least one week before the commencement of the entrance examination. Candidates must download the application form through the official website of the University. No information regarding the hall ticket will be sent to the individual candidate.

Candidates must preserve the Hall Ticket number, Results of entrance examination and Rank Card for Online Counselling Process. Web-based options are available for the candidates to select the college and course of their choice.

Osmania University PG Results 2022

As previosuly mentioned admission for the M.Sc degree programme at Osmania University is taken on the basis of a State Level Entrance Test CPGET. The test is conducted for admission in M.A. M.Sc., M.Com etc as well as P.G. Diploma Courses and Integrated Degree Programme. The PG courses are offered at Osmania, Telangana, Kakatiya, Mahatma Gandhi, Palamuru, Satavahana and Jawaharlal Nehru Technological Universities.

Once the entrance test is conducted successfully and the results are released, candidates must appear counselling process. The results will be declared on the official website of the university after the PG entrance test is conducted successfully on defined dates. The entrance test rank cards, schedules of the certificate verification, web-based options filling all will be released on the university website. Candidates are advised to check the website on regular basis to stay updated on the latest notifications. 

Admission for PG courses at Osmania are confirmed on the basis of a web-based counselling process. In case, there is a tie in the scores and rank secured in the entrance test, the priority will be given based on the following two conditions:

2. Scores of previous qualifying examination

The counselling process schedule will be released after the declaration of the result. Candidates must use the online options to choose the course and Institute in the order of the preference before the verification of documents at the counselling process.

The University reserves the right to remove any course or subject offered or add new courses or shift the course to some other Affiliated College of the Institute. Qualified candidates must attend the certificate verification process at designated centres after the web-based counselling process. Candidates whose provisional admission is confirmed will have to pay starting fees at the designated centre.

Osmania University PG Seat Reservation

Local and Non-Local Candidates

• 85% of the available seats are reserved for Local candidates ( local area in respect of University subject to community and other reservations) for all the PG courses offered.
• The remaining 15% of seats are open for local and non-local candidates.

SC/ ST candidates

• 15% of the total seats are reserved for SC, 6% for ST.
• Candidates taking admission under the reserved category must demonstrate relevant documents at the time of verification.
