The GMAC or Graduate Management Admission Council conducts the NMAT (Narsee Monjee Management Aptitude Test), which is an entrance examination for admission to a broad range of management programs that are offered by this institute. The Minimum qualification needed for appearing in this test is that the applicant must be a graduate with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in the first attempt.
It was in 1981 that Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (or SVKM) established the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies to satisfy the demands of management studies. The NMIMS has grown by leaps and bounds into a rapidly and successfully developing University. NMAT is the entrance examination for admission to all the MBA Full Time courses of NMIMS, Mumbai, as well as and the PGDM courses of NMIMS at Hyderabad, and Bengaluru. This test can be taken up to a maximum of three times and there has to be a gap of at least 15 days between two successive attempts. It offers courses/programs across various disciplines, such as Management, Technology, Science, Economics, Commerce, Architecture, and Pharmacy. In the present times, the University has about 5000 students and more than 430 faculty members.
