IIT Bombay begins the admission process for various courses on different dates. To pursue M.Tech from IIT Bombay, candidates must have passed B.Tech degree with a minimum of 60% of marks. IIT B.Tech graduates with 8 CGPA can secure direct admission without any entrance test and candidate must have a GATE Scorecard
The selection of candidates for M.Tech and M.Tech + Ph.D. degree courses is completely based on merit. The GATE score of the candidates is considered for shortlisting the applicants. The candidates shortlisted as per GATE score can get admission. For some M.Tech specializations, IIT Bombay also conducts the interview.
The candidates must have a minimum of 55% marks in B.Des or a relevant degree to secure admission in M.Des at IIT Bombay. Candidate must also have a CEED Scorecard
The selection of candidates is purely based on the CEED score and the CEED score is considered for shortlisting the applicants.
To pursue M.Phil from IIT Bombay, candidates need a master’s degree in Arts, Commerce or equivalent with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent letter grade (50% marks for SC/ST) from a recognized university or deemed university. B. Tech./M.Sc. degree or equivalent with an adequate background in Social Sciences with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent letter grade (55% marks for SC/ST). Candidate must have the M.Phil Entrance Test (MET) / GATE/ UGC-JRF/ UGC-NET Scorecard
The selection of the candidates is based on the performance of candidates in any of the entrance tests mentioned above.
Candidates looking forward to pursuing an MBA from IIT Bombay need to have a bachelor’s degree in any stream with a minimum of 55% of marks and they must also have a CAT scorecard.
The selection of candidates for an MBA at IIT Bombay is basis the candidate's performance in CAT, Written Ability Test (WAT) and PI (Personal Interview).

The selection for the B.Des course is solely on the basis of UCEED score.
