However, Akhtar dropped the vision of getting into IIT during counselling to pursue a double major in computer science and physics at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology). He realised the opportunity to get into IT for research after taking the IOAA Olympiad in Georgia. Sahil is from Kolkata and completed his intermediate from Delhi Public School (DPS), Ruby Park, and he appeared for the JEE main 2023 for the April session. Indian Institute of Technology Delhi is among the top most engineering and technological colleges in the country. It offers M.Sc in Mathematics for a duration of 2 years at the postgraduate level. The total seat intake for the course is 68 and the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi fees for M.Sc in Mathematics is Rs 49,400. Selection to the course is based on the scores of the IIT JAM exam.
