I have scored 45% in my 12th grade. Am I eligible for B.Tech admission at LPU?

- AmritaUpdated On September 05, 2025 06:14 PM

LPU looks at a student's whole potential rather than simply their grades since they think that every student deserves an equal opportunity. In addition to serving as an admission exam, LPUNEST provides funding options based on your performance. The emphasis on skill-based learning, practical projects, and an industry-aligned curriculum are what really make LPU unique. The institution supports students' academic and professional development with its state-of-the-art labs, knowledgeable and helpful instructors, and robust placement network. Therefore, you may still have a successful future in engineering even if your percentage is lower than average if you work hard and receive the proper instruction at LPU.

Hello Amrita! Unfortunately, LPU does not offer admission in its B.Tech. programs to students scoring below 60% in their 12th standard. However, this does not necessarily mean that you have to let go of your B.Tech. dream. There are other good private universities offering admission in B.Tech. with this score. I recommend Geeta University, which is my alma matter and where you can apply for the B.Tech. program with your current marks. I can tell you that it is a really good university offering the latest curriculum and best infrastructure facilities. Do visit the university website once and check out their program details and other info to make the right decision.

To be eligible for the B.Tech program at Lovely Professional University (LPU), candidates must have completed their 10+2 education with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Biology/Computer Science. Additionally, candidates should have studied Mathematics as a compulsory subject. Those appearing for their 12th exams are also eligible to apply. Admission is based on the LPU National Entrance and Scholarship Test (LPUNEST) or other recognized entrance exams like JEE Main. Meeting these criteria ensures that students are well-prepared for the rigorous academic demands of the B.Tech program at LPU.

Unfortunately, with 45% in grade 12th, you may not be eligible for B.Tech in LPU. The general eligibility requirement is: Pass 10+2 ( with physics, maths and one additional subject like chemistry, computer science, etc. ) from a recognised board, with atleast 60%aggregate marks for most of the B.Tech programs at LPU.

Dear candidate the eligiblity for B.Tech is student must have 60% marks in 12 class with English, Physics and Maths as compulsory subjects. so according to your percentage in 12 class you are not meeting with the minimum criteria of lpu eligiblity for B.Tech program. so you are not eligible to take the admission in B.Tech program in LPU.

Lovely Professional University(LPU)requires candidates to have a minimum 60%in their 12th grade (with physics, Chemistry and Mathematics)as compulsory subjects for most B-Tech program. However you have scored in your 12th grade, which is below usual cut-off for direct admission to B-Tech. LPU Nest is one way to qualify for B.Tech admissions, if your 12th Grade marks. However, you can still apply through LPU Nest ,where you can improve your chances based on your entrance exam performance. It's also advisable to contact the LPU admission office to discuss your specific situation and explore any additional pathways or options available to you.

Dear Amrita, the eligibility criteria for B.Tech admissions at LPU require a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics, and English as compulsory subjects. The university also provides a 5% relaxation in eligibility criteria for candidates from North-East states and Sikkim, Defence Personnel and their Dependents, and Wards of Kashmiri Migrants. However, with a score of 45% in your 12th grade, it appears you do not meet the eligibility criteria for the B.Tech programme at LPU. If you belong to the aforementioned categories, you might consider other courses such as BA in Journalism and Mass Communication, which require 45% marks in 10+2.
