NIT Patna Admission 2025 - Dates, Form, Online Process, Fees

NIT Patna admission 2024 for BTech will start with JoSAA registration from June 10, 2024 onwards. Students will need a JEE Main 2024 scorecard for the JoSAA counselling process. Further, GATE score is required for MTech admission at NIT Patna.

Candidates need documents for admission such as JEE Main scorecard (For B.Tech and B.Arch), JEE main allotment certificate issued by JoSAA (For B.Tech and B.Arch), GATE Rank certificate (For M.Tech and M.Plan), Class X Board or similar Examination Passing Certificate, Class X or similar Mark Sheet, Class XII or similar Mark Sheet, Class XII or similar Provisional Certificate/ Original Certificate, Character Certificate (recent),SC/ST/PwD/CW/KM Certificate (in the name of the Applicant) issued by the competent authority, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Certificate (in the name of the Applicant) issued by the competent authority, Transfer Certificate from School/ College as well as Migration Certificate from Board/ University. (For B.Tech and B.Arch) and at least two passport-size self-attested photographs.

Admissions to the 5 years Integrated M.Sc courses are done by evaluating 10+2 or similar level examination marks and in the entrance exam conducted by NIT Patna. The candidate who is looking forward to studying 5 years Integrated M.Sc course in NIT Patna must have studied in a Science stream in 10+2 or a similar level from any recognized central or state board of education.

JEE Main score is important for NIT Patna B.Tech admission. NIT Patna offers a B.Tech degree in five different specializations. Candidates who are seeking admission have to clear JEE-Main. The final selection shall be based on the candidate's 12th result & JEE score followed by counselling.

B.Tech Seat Matrix:-

The candidates must have secured at least 75% marks in the Class 12 examination conducted by respective boards. For SC/ST students, there shall be a relaxation of 5% in this criterion.

The Admissions to the M.Tech Programme in NIT Patna is based on the GATE examination and through the counselling. GATE scorecards will be available for download until 31st December 2025.

Admission for Master of Science is based on the JAM Entrance Exam. Candidates need to qualify for the JAM 2018 for eligible to apply for the M.Sc. program at NIT Patna. Shortlisted candidates will be required to appear for a written test on topics in/her discipline.

NIT Patna offers five years Bachelor of Architecture. The candidate who is seeking admission needs to clear  JEE-Main.

JoSAA Important Dates

Students must have secured at least 75% marks in class 12th exam or be in the top 20 percentile in the class 12th exam conducted by the respective boards. For SC/ST candidates, the eligibility criteria are 65% marks in class 12th.

NIT Patna offers two years of Master's degree in Urban & Regional Planning. GATE Scorecard is a must to take admission in M.Plan.

NIT Patna B.Arch Application Process 

The National Institute of Technology - NIT Patna does not have an indigenous application process for taking admissions in the Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) course. Once the student has his JEE Mains Rank and Paper-II score, the candidate has to apply in the portal of the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) where the student has to select NIT Patna as a preference under institutions and 'B.Arch' for the preferred course section. The grant of admissions will totally depend on the score acquired by the candidate and NIT Patna cutoffs.

NIT Patna B.Arch Selection Process 

The student will be allocated a college based on the choices he/she has filled in the JoSAA form. The seat allocation will be depending on the ranks scored by the candidate. Multiple rounds of counseling are conducted to grant the student admission to the National Institute of Technology Patna in the course of B.Arch. Just selecting the preferred institute as NIT Patna does not guarantee admissions in the institute as the NITs including NIT Patna observe the high opening and closing ranks. The students must have cleared the GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering) examination which is conducted for admission to the masters-level Engineering and Technical courses in Engineering, Technology, Planning, Architecture, and Design departments of the colleges in India. The candidate should pass bachelor's level graduation in any of the related, similar or allied courses to be eligible to take up a particular M.Tech Specialisation or MURP course in the National Institute of Technology - NIT Patna. The candidates must have scored at least 60% in the graduation level in the related, allied, or similar stream. NIT Patna M.Tech and MURP Course Application Process

The students will have to register with CCMT (Centralized Counselling For M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan. Admissions) which is conducted by NIT Rourkela for admissions in all the Masters level courses at NIT Patna and other NITs as well. The student will have to register online for the CCMT counseling process where he/she has to mention NIT Patna and his/her preferred specialisation for getting selected in that college. However, only selecting NIT Patna does not guarantee admission to NIT Patna M.Tech and MURP courses. The allocation will depend on the ranks scored by the candidate. NIT Patna M.Tech and MURP Course Selection Process

The candidate will be selected for M.Tech and MURP admissions in the National Institute of Technology - NIT Patna based on his/her rank and score on the GATE examination. The student, if he/she has been given the preference as NIT Patna will be allocated the institute depending on the opening and closing ranks. The students then will have to visit the NIT Patna Campus for document verification and final admissions to the course of preference after paying the prescribed admission fees.
