What this means is that getting a certain score in NMAT does not entitle you to a particular percentile. The percentile calculation depends on the performance of all of the candidates appearing for NMAT.
However, a correlation can be seen between the score vs percentile of NMAT on the basis of previous data of the exam. The information given below will provide the candidates with an idea of the score and percentile in NMAT.
- 99 percentile: Generally, a score ranging from 230 - 240 is equivalent to the 99 percentile in NMAT.
95 percentile: Candidates who have scaled scores in the range of 210 - 215 usually get a 95+ percentile score in NMAT.
90 percentile: A score above 200 is generally required for a 90+ percentile in NMAT.
How to Calculate NMAT 2023 Scaled Scores?
NMAT scaled scores are calculated based on the raw scores of a candidate in each section of the exam. As per the information provided by GMAC, the scaled scores of NMAT are calculated after taking into account any difference in the difficulty of the question papers of the exam. Thus, the scaled scores give an accurate depiction of a candidate's performance with respect to other candidates who appeared for the exam.
The NMAT scaled scores are released 4 - 5 weeks after a candidate has taken the test. The scores are also updated on the NMAT scorecard. GMAC does not reveal the raw score of candidates in the NMAT exam and scaled scores are only used in the calculation of the final percentile of candidates who appeared for the NMAT exam. Candidates can use the scaled scores to judge their performance in the exam without worrying about the difficulty level of the test that they received.
How to Calculate NMAT 2023 Percentile?
The final percentile in NMAT reveals how well a candidate has performed in the NMAT exam. The final percentile gives an idea of the candidate's score relative to all of the other candidates who appeared in the NMAT exam. The final percentile of a candidate gives the percentage out of the total number of candidates who have received a lower score than the candidate in the exam.
Hence, the final percentile for NMAT is only calculated after all of the candidates have appeared for the NMAT exam at the end of the year. The NMAT final percentile of a candidate is mentioned on the scorecard received by a candidate and is also sent to various colleges for the shortlisting of candidates. The final percentile of candidates is usually released by GMAC after the declaration of the result.
