Direct MBA admission without entrance exam is a good option for those who prefer to opt out of entrance exam preparation. If students are not interested in getting admission in top B-Schools like IIMs and others, direct MBA admission is a positive option.

Direct MBA admission option is also beneficial to those who wish to start their own business or venture after obtaining the degree. Usually, such candidates pursue MBA course just to acquire the necessary skills to start a business.

Similarly, Direct MBA admission is flexible for those who wish to settle in a job that offers a median salary of Rs. 2,00,000 to Rs. 6,00,000 per annum and are not aspiring for higher packages. Usually, top companies offer higher packages to students pursuing MBA in IIMs and other top B-Schools across the country. However, private MBA colleges also offer good placements to students even though the salary packages are less.

Deemed universities offer better placements to MBA students as these institutes offer assured placements. However, the fee charged by these universities is high as compared to private MBA colleges.

Finally, Direct MBA admission option is good for those who do not wish to migrate to far-off places to pursue MBA course. Generally, such students prefer an MBA college in their region or locality.

Factors to Consider before Taking Direct MBA Admission without Entrance Exam:

Firstly, students need to make a list of MBA colleges that offer direct MBA admission (some of the names of colleges are mentioned below). It is advisable to gain more details about the placements of colleges, quality of education and fees.

Secondly, students need to visit the college directly to have a look at college infrastructure, classrooms and other facilities.

Thirdly, students need to figure out whether the college has AICTE or UGC approval. There are some private colleges, which are offering management courses without the approval. Therefore, students need to be cautious while selecting the colleges. The list of AICTE and UGC approved colleges is available on their respective websites.

Students must understand that they should not aim for only one college. It is better to make alternative options and choose the best college among them.

Direct MBA Admission without Entrance Exam Eligibility Criteria:

The eligibility criteria of direct MBA admission without entrance test is different from the entrance-based admissions. Here are the general MBA eligibility criteria of various private MBA colleges and deemed universities: -

  • Students should have at least 65%+ marks at UG level to be eligible for direct MBA admission.
  • Students can take direct MBA admission in any college (that offer direct MBA admission) across the country.
  • For management quota seats in private MBA colleges across various states, students should have at least 50% marks at UG level.

Direct MBA Admission Process without Entrance Exam:

Usually, colleges offer direct MBA score based on the academic merit of the candidates. These colleges conduct Group Discussion and Personal Interview to shortlist the eligible candidates. However, some colleges offer MBA admission directly based on the UG percentage or marks of the candidates. These colleges mostly offer MBA admission under management quota.

Students can visit the college directly to get MBA admission or submit the online application form through the official website of the college. Students who submit the online application form will get a call from the respective institute.

Students getting MBA admission under management quota are not eligible for scholarship schemes even though they belong to reserved categories.
