All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) is a university-level entrance examination conducted by the National Law University, Delhi (NLU Delhi). The AILET examination is conducted every year for admission to BA LL.B, LL.M and PhD level programmes. The applicants who have completely filled up their application form and paid their application fee can sit for the exam. AILET 2022 is going to be conducted on June 26, 2022, and the result will be declared within a few weeks. After the declaration of the AILET 2022 result, the cutoff for AILET 2022 will be released.
By now, the AILET 2022 aspirants must be well aware of the AILET syllabus as it is a crucial part of their preparation. From 2022, National Law University, Delhi (NLU Delhi) has eliminated Elementary Mathematics and Legal Aptitude from their entrance examination. So, this year AILET will only have the English Language, Logical Reasoning, Current Affairs and General Knowledge sections. As two subjects have been eliminated, the overall sectional weightage has also altered.
The AILET cutoff will be declared by the National Law University, Delhi (NLU Delhi) after the result has been released. AILET 2022 cutoff is the minimum marks required to score by the aspirants to be able to get admission to NLU Delhi. As the exam patterns for BA LL.B and LL.M are different, the cutoff marks for both exams won’t be the same.
The AILET cutoff is different for different categories of candidates- General, SC, ST, PWD, Kashmiri Migrants and Residents of Jammu and Kashmir. Compared to the General category candidates, candidates who belong to Scheduled Tribe (ST), Scheduled Caste (SC), Persons with Disabilities (PwD), Kashmiri Migrants (KM) and Residents of Jammu and Kashmir categories get the chance to join NLU Delhi with comparatively low cutoff marks. Candidates who will be appearing for AILET BA LL.B and LL.M 2022 should have an idea of the expected cutoffs for 2022. Based on AILET 2022 result and cutoff, NLU Delhi will then prepare the AILET 2022 merit list for the qualified candidates.
AILET 2022 aspirants must know a few things related to the examination which are stated below:
- AILET cut-off is declared separately for different categories of applicants, i.e. General, SC, ST, PWD and Kashmiri Migrants/ Foreign Category.
- The cut-off depends on a lot of factors like the total number of applicants, the total number of seats available, the difficulty level of AILET, the applicant’s performance and the category of the candidate.
- AILET cut-off is the minimum benchmark score needed for the applicants to get shortlisted for different law programs offered by NLU Delhi.
- Applicants must remember that they need to score above the expected AILET cut-off to be eligible for admission to law courses at NLU Delhi.

Factors Affecting AILET 2022 Cutoff
The AILET cutoffs vary on certain conditions. Take a look at the factors determining the AILET 2022 cutoff.
- Number of students appearing for the exam: If the number of students appearing for AILET 2022 is more than in previous years, then the cutoff will definitely rise.
- Difficulty level of the AILET question paper: A part of the AILET cutoff depends on the difficulty level of the question paper. If the question paper is tough then the cutoff will be lower and a moderate to easy question paper will lead to a rise in the cutoff scores.
- Performance of the candidates: The average performance of the candidates will also affect the cutoff. If most of the candidates perform well in the entrance examination then the chances of a high cutoff are more and vice-versa.
- Total available seats for BA LL.B/ LL.M course: In NLU Delhi there is a limited number of seats available for BA LL.B and LL.M courses. So, usually, the cutoff is high as the number of seats available is limited.
- Category of candidates: As mentioned above, the cutoff for students belonging to reserved categories like SC, ST, PwD, Kashmiri Migrants and Residents of Jammu and Kashmir is comparatively lower than the General or Open category candidates.
AILET Previous Year Question Paper Difficulty Level
