ATMA 2024 Preparation Tips for Analytical Reasoning: Aspiring MBA candidates appear for Aims Test for Management Admission (ATMA) to get through to the top MBA colleges in India. The ATMA exam is divided into various sections: Analytical Reasoning, Verbal Skills, and Quantitative Skills. Each section is again divided into PART I and PART II. Usually, the Analytical Reasoning section is considered the trickiest and most difficult of the three. But, with practice and proper preparation, candidates can perform exceedingly well in this section as well. 

Highlights of ATMA 2024 Analytical Reasoning

According to the previous year’s trends for the Analytical Reasoning sections, the difficulty level of this section is between moderate-difficult. As the name of the section suggests, Analytical Reasoning is all about critical thinking and logical reasoning. One must be able to break down the question with critical thinking and deduce a logical explanation to it. With practice comes understanding and accuracy, which will help in attempting this section. 
Further, here are some key points to know about the Analytical Reasoning section of the ATMA exam 2024:

  • Similar to the other sections, the Analytical Reasoning section is divided into two sub-sections, Analytical Reasoning PART I and Analytical Reasoning PART II.
  • In total there are 60 questions, and 30 questions in each section. 
  • All the questions are in Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) format.
  • Each answer carries equal marks, i.e. plus 1 for the correct answer.
  • ATMA 2024 also has negative marking for wrong answers. 0.25 marks will be deducted with each wrong answer. 
  • On average, 22-25 correct answers may be considered a good attempt.

Tricks and Tips for ATMA 2024 Analytical Reasoning Section

The Analytical Reasoning section of ATMA 2024 requires ample practice and dedication. Candidates must solve sample papers, test series, and mock papers as much as possible. There are no formulae or tricks to do it the easy way. The only way to crack ATMA 2024 is by practicing and training the brain to think critically and resolve such questions. Analytical Reasoning questions are like puzzles and need to be solved. Hence, here are some tips that might help in the ATMA 2024 Preparation for Analytical Reasoning:

  • The first step to solve an analytical question is to understand the question. Unless one understands the actual question, it is difficult to find the answers. Therefore, instead of rushing to answer the question, candidates must take a pause and try to understand the question and then try to resolve it. 
  • Candidates must focus on solving ATMA Mock Test and ATMA Sample papers. It will help them respond to the questions swiftly and with accuracy during the exam.
  • Every individual has their comfort zone and weakness. Candidates should note it down and start the preparations accordingly. Also, it is best to take notes while revising during the exam. 
  • Sometimes, the answers to the Analytical Reasoning question lie in the question itself. Therefore, carefully read the question to find a logical explanation and answer to the question. 
  • Candidates must think critically while attempting this section. It is best to develop it as a skill. The questions need to be broken with logical explanations in order to find an accurate answer. The questions follow a flow of events, one must find the flow to eventually find the correct answer. 
  • Drawing diagrams, grids, or tables will be helpful to understand the questions.
  • Finally, candidates must make time to read. It will help in understanding the questions, which will directly impact the accuracy of answers.
