CBSE Class 12 Geography Answer Key 2026

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the Class 12th Geography on February 26, 2026. The exam will be held in a single shift, from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. We will provide an unofficial, subject-expert-verified answer key for Section A (MCQs) of CBSE Class 12 Geography immediately after the exam is concluded. You are required to get a minimum of 33% marks in each of the five subjects, both in theory and practical/internal assessments separately, following the CBSE Class 12 Passing Marks 2026 . You also need to acquire an overall 33% aggregate to pass the exam.

The CBSE 12th Geography exam is a 3-hour exam comprising 30 questions, where all questions are compulsory. The exam will be held for 70 marks theory and 30 marks practical. The theory paper consists of five sections. Sections A, B, C, D, and E. The question paper features 50% competency-based questions, 20% MCQs, and 30% short/long answers, based on the NCERT syllabus. Shift from Off-Screen to On-Screen Evaluation for CBSE Class 12 Board Exams

The Central Board of Secondary Education has introduced the On-Screen Marking (OSM) evaluation system for Class 12 board exams 2026. Now onwards, the answer sheets will be scanned and uploaded to an online platform for evaluation instead of checking physical answer sheets manually. With this shift, the evaluation process is expected to be completed in 9 days, as compared to 12 days earlier. This new change applies only to Class 12, while Class 10 remains physical. Starting from the academic year 2026-27, to follow the new system, schools will set up computers or laptops.

CBSE Class 12 Geography Passing Marks 2026

To pass CBSE Class 12 Geography exam 2026, you need a minimum of 33% marks to pass. This will require obtaining 33% in theory and 33% in practical/ internal assessments separately. In addition to that, you also need to obtain a 33% overall aggregate for Class 12th Geography. 23 is the minimum passing marks out of 70, while in the practical exam, the minimum passing criteria is 9 marks. If you fail in either of the component you will have to appear for compartment exam. Therefore, try to achieve a grade higher than 'E' across all your exams to get the Pass Certificate.

CBSE Class 12 Marksheet 2026

You can access your digital CBSE Class 12 marksheet from CBSE's official website, at cbseresults.nic.in and DigiLocker/ SMS using your roll number, school number, and admit card ID. If you pass the Class 12th exam successfully, you will be provided with the original CBSE Class 12 Marksheet 2026. You will have to visit your respective school premises to collect the original marksheet. Board will issue the original marksheet in the third/ last week of May 2026 tentatively.
