Study Tips for COMEDK Chemistry Most Important Chapters 2026

In order to be prepared well for the COMEDK UGET 2026 Chemistry exam, you are required to study hard. Make sure to prepare a good study strategy and abide by it. The points below explain about the strategic study tips for COMEDK UGET Chemistry that you can follow in order to have great preparation:-

  • Visualize reactions and connect them with real-life examples: Instead of memorizing chemical reactions, relate them to everyday experiences. For instance, think of rusting of iron as an example of oxidation, baking soda reacting with vinegar for acid-base reactions, and fuel combustion to understand thermodynamics. This approach makes abstract concepts more intuitive.

  • Use hands-on learning for better retention: Conduct small at-home experiments, such as testing the pH of household items with turmeric or litmus paper, observing effervescence in acid-carbonate reactions, or studying soap formation (saponification). Use interactive simulations (like PhET, and ChemCollective) to understand reaction kinetics and molecular structures visually.

  • Practice with a mix of conceptual and numerical problems: While the theory is essential, Chemistry also requires strong numerical skills in Physical Chemistry topics like the Mole Concept, Chemical Kinetics, and Thermodynamics. Solve problems daily, focusing on unit conversions, reaction rate calculations, and enthalpy changes to boost accuracy and speed.

  • Deconstruct reaction mechanisms step by step: Organic Chemistry can feel overwhelming, but breaking down reaction mechanisms into individual steps helps. Instead of memorizing SN1/SN2 mechanisms, understand why and how bonds break and form based on electronic effects (inductive, resonance, hyperconjugation). This also applies to d and f-block reactions and coordination compounds.

  • Apply the Pomodoro technique for focused study sessions: Chemistry requires both memorization and problem-solving, so balance study sessions with breaks. Study for 50 minutes, then take a 10-15 minute break before resuming. Use these breaks to recall reaction mechanisms, revise periodic trends, or solve a few quick MCQs.

Difficulty Level Analysis of COMEDK Chemistry

After speaking to Kurra Srinivas, retired Physics faculty from Guntur, Andhra Pradesh with 30 years of experience in teaching Chemistry for Class 12, JEE Mains and NEET exam we took a deep insight and for the detailed understanding of students we have mentioned below.

2022 Chemistry – Easy to Easy-Moderate

• In COMEDK UGET 2022, Chemistry was generally perceived as the easiest section compared to Physics and Mathematics, with questions being straightforward and NCERT-based. Most problems came directly from routine topics in Organic, Inorganic and Physical Chemistry, making it approachable even under time pressure.
• Frequent topics included Organic Chemistry fundamentals, Inorganic areas like p-block and d-block elements, and Chemical Bonding / Mole Concept. Many students reported questions that tested basic understanding rather than complex applications.
• This trend helped students attempt a high number of Chemistry questions confidently, boosting overall scores and allowing time allocation to tougher subjects.

2023 Chemistry – Easy to Moderate

• In 2023, Chemistry remained easy to moderate in difficulty, with a good mix of direct NCERT + slightly application-based questions. Many found the section to be one of the scoring parts of the exam, especially when compared to Physics.
• Questions were spread across Physical Chemistry (like Chemical Reactions and Kinetics), Organic functional groups and reaction mechanisms, and Inorganic areas such as coordination chemistry and biomolecules.
• A notable feature was the consistent repeat of foundational concepts from recent years — e.g., simple equilibrium, pH, hydrocarbon reactions, and inorganic trends — making previous years’ practice highly useful for 2023 aspirants.

2024 Chemistry – Shifted to Moderate

• In 2024, the Chemistry section’s difficulty elevated a bit, with some lengthier and more concept-driven questions being reported by students. While still not as tough as Mathematics or Physics, there were more questions that required multiple steps or deeper reasoning, particularly in Organic Chemistry and Physical Chemistry.
• Some student feedback indicated that even familiar topics could be framed in ways that tested understanding beyond direct recall, such as organic reaction sequences or multi-concept numericals.
• Still, fundamentals and NCERT-based concepts continued to dominate, and students who had strong basics found this section manageable.

2025 Chemistry – Moderate to Slightly Challenging

• According to student reactions and expert analyses for COMEDK 2025, the Chemistry section stayed moderate overall but exhibited a slight increase in difficulty vs earlier years. Questions required both conceptual clarity and some multi-step problem solving, especially on topics like Organic mechanisms and Physical chemistry numericals.
• Organic Chemistry continued to be heavily tested with a large share of questions focusing on functional group reactions and mechanisms. Some students even reported time-consuming physical chemistry questions in certain shifts.
• Importantly, although many questions were still based on core textbook content, the framing was often application-oriented — meaning conceptual practice plus timed mock tests became essential to score well.

At Lovely Professional University (LPU), B.Tech tuition fees for the full four‑year program generally range from around ₹11.6 lakh to ₹16.4 lakh depending on the branch you choose (like IT, CSE, AI, etc.). Annual tuition usually comes to about ₹2.8 – 4.1 lakh if no scholarship is applied. With your OC rank and low merit score, you may get a smaller scholarship or none, meaning you’ll likely pay close to the full fee amount. In addition, hostel fees (optional) are separate and typically around ₹80,000 – ₹1.5 lakh per year depending on the room type you select. Scholarships based on …

LPU offers a wide range of programs including Computer Science and Technology (CST) under its own affiliation. If a college is claiming CST under UEM (University of Engineering & Management), it is separate from LPU. To confirm, check the official university affiliation of the specific college before admission, as LPU and UEM are independent institutions with different curricula and regulations.
