The University of Delhi , popularly known as DU, has revised the syllabus for all of its courses of the undergraduate and postgraduate level. DU has released its revised syllabus on its official website and the new course will come into effect from the academic session of 2019-2020. Delhi University has decided to update its syllabus of various faculties such as Applied Social Sciences and Humanities, Commerce and Business Studies, Science , Music and Fine Arts , Law, Cluster Innovation Centre, Interdisciplinary and Applied Sciences, Arts , Mathematical Sciences, Social Science, Education, Management Studies, and Medical Sciences.
DU is altering its curriculum of all postgraduate and undergraduate programmes to align it with the learning outcome-based framework of the University Grants Commission (UGC). The heads of eleven departments of Delhi University and a college got together to initiate this process. All the colleges of DU will abide by the revised syllabus of DU from 2019 and incorporate the course structure that has already been decided. The process of revision of the courses offered by DU started on 11th March 2019 after a detailed consultative meeting of all heads and deans.
In an official statement, the Delhi University said that the revision of syllabus will benefit a lot of students, especially those who are taking admission in the session of 20219-2020. The revised curriculum is going to be expressed in terms of outcomes that are related to understanding, knowledge, skills, values, and attitude. DU aims to foster quality higher education which will contribute to the society and for this purpose, it keeps striving and making efforts for the betterment of students and enhancement of what they are taught.
