GATE 2025 CS subject wise weightage is divided into two parts: Core Computer Science and Information Technology includes 85% weightage while Engineering Mathematics contains 15% weightage. GATE CSE topic-wise weightage is prepared based on the past year's question pattern.

GATE CS Subject Wise Marks Weightage

GATE 2025 CS Subject Wise Marks: GATE Computer Science Engineering is one of the most opted papers by students with around 1.2 lakh students appearing and 21,949 students qualifying last year. IIT Roorkee has released the GATE 2025 CS syllabus and exam pattern on the official website at gate2025.iitr.ac.in. As per the official syllabus, the paper contains two sections: Engineering Mathematics having 15% weightage, and core Computer Science and Information Technology carrying 85% subject weightage. Some of the highest-weightage subjects of the GATE CS syllabus 2025 are Discrete Maths and Engineering Mathematics with 18 to 21 marks weightage; Computer Networks with 8 to 11 marks weightage, and Algorithms with 7 to 8 marks weightage. In addition, there is a General Aptitude section in the GATE CS paper for 15 marks. Students can check the GATE CS subject-wise weightage 2025 and question pattern to ace the exam effectively. The GATE 2025 exam will be held on February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025. The GATE exam date 2025 paper-wise has been released. The GATE Computer Science and Information Technology paper will be held in morning and evening shifts on February 1, 2025.

There is no provision of negative marking in NAT and MSQs. However, MCQs do have a negative marking.

  • 1/3 mark is deducted for every wrong 1 mark MCQ.
